Good luck brotha! Just got rid of the last of family this morning that have been here since Thanksgiving since some stayed because the baby came shortly after the holiday. It is sooo nice to have a quiet house again although the outlaws who moved here after us My wife and I would vent to each other every night to keep from snapping.

Always Remember:

6 packs are such to take care of you Sunday thru Monday.

Bourbon comes in single bottles for Saturday.

In Laws may come and In laws may go but Crowbars last forever :)

I think he is probably ok. Poor fellow was probably eager to get out of the house this morning even if he went to work.

Would it be cheaper to put them up in a hotel?

When my parents came to live with us it lasted a week and they decided that it was worth it for them to live in a hotel until the house was ready.

Re: Lord give me strength

Day 3 update: Sorry I wasn't around to much yesterday, The wife and I took her employees to brunch at a nice resort casino here and we got a room and stayed the night. They have a great cigar lounge, very nice restaurants and we had an excellent time, until we returned to our home, or what I now affectionately refer to as "Hell House"!
As I walked through the door this morning upon our return, I suddenly felt myself transforming into Colonel Kurtz from Apocalypse Now as I begun mumbling "The Horror, The Horror".
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNUr__-VZeQ
My front entry rug has become a dog urine receptacle. The grout under the dining table was now a stream of yellow tributaries flowing , as best I can tell, toward the pacific. There are half eaten dog treats strewn about the house. I will spare you the details of how the house smells as I will leave that to your imagination.
My MIL tried to make me believe it was our dog who has been soiling the entry rug, a feat she has yet to accomplish in the last eight years, and as I got down on my hand and knees to clean the tributaries under the table, my MIL's husband, who was seated at the table using his laptop, would not move his feet so that I could clean under them.
They just left to go look at homes and took their 3 dogs with them. I will continue to clean the house now that they are gone as soon as I am done cleaning my hunting rifles.:D :gn

Re: Lord give me strength

Kevin: In all seriousness, it is NOT acceptable that they destroy your house. They need to be told that they are guests, and anymore urine on the floor will be one drop too much, and they will have to vacant and move to a hotel. Likewise any undue "takeover" of the house or refrigerator contents by said people will result in immediate removal. It's funny only up to a point. I really think you need to talk to your wife and tell her that what is going on is beyond the pale, and the trespassers need to be moved to a hotel.

I really feel bad for you, brother. I hope that you can get rid of these people before you lose your sanity and good humor!

Hugh spread some great words, I have this issue with the woman that lives there and her kids and I put up with it for 2 years mine be it was trying to make a family look past everyones character defects and etc. but 2 years later am walking in the resentments road and I lock myself with my son away from everyone or disappear with him for hours only to return to chaos and unhealthiness. Not judging just saying brother. many a time we had talks but issues didn't change so start the talks...you sound like a strong man, keep your wife into how you feel and whats going on and deal with it together.

Say...all of them within a 2 hour drive?

Watch dog bark on a hot summer night,
kill my in-laws, kill my in-laws,
watch dog bark, though he bite,
kill my in-laws, kill my in-laws,
slip in his window, break their neck,
then their house I start to wreck,
got no reason, what the heck!
kill my in-laws, kill my in-laws,
C-I-L-L my in-laws.

Seems like a song that would have a banjo behind it, right?

My in-laws routinely stay for a month. Of course, they live in Europe and my wife and I live in Michigan.

I honestly have nothing to complain about. I love my in-laws and they are great with my kids. After a while though my MIL starts driving my wife nuts.

Actually an old SNL Eddie Murphy skit, substitute "landlord" for in-laws.

Well Kevin after talking with you last night and then reading this thread, I feel for you bro, two weeks is a long time to hold your tongue. You keep a very nice clean home and a couple of mutts shouldn't be ALLOWED to disgrace it with piss. Maybe a trip to the neighbors house Smith&Wesson's is in order;):D:D

Thank you Tom, you are correct. My true father in-law who just passed lived in northern Ca.
I will be up dating you all shortly on the further trails and tribulations here at the Casa as soon as I gather my scattered thoughts (and get back from the hardware store as I needed to pick up a shovel, lg plastic bags, duct tape and lye :r)
