Is this a live draft or does it go strickly off rankings? How would it work if I was not on and already had 2 QB's but my next 4 ranked players wer QB's? Would I end up with 6?
I usually never miss a draft, but making wife go to a High School football game Friday night have to take her out Saturday night.

Live draft and I believe your scenario is correct although you might be able to find addt'l info on the Yahoo site itself.

After you rank your players enter a mock draft before the official one. change draft order from yahoo default to your rankings. when the time comes don't make a selection, let the 2min clock wind down and yahoo will select for you based on how you ranked players. You can watch along or they will just send you an email with a breakdown of the fake draft. Run it about half a dozen times between then and now and you will get an idea of what the AI of the system will do in those situations.

I'm signing up today Scott. I tried doing it last night on my BB while I was smoking a cigar in my lounge chair in the backyard but I don't think it "took" and I wasn't that motivated to start up the computer and get it done. :D

Looks like everyone signed up.:tu

Will we have a predetermined draft order or Yahoo random?

Jon, try a mock draft. It'll help a lot.
Yahoo gives you a list that you can sort by Yahoo rank, average pick, or by position player. Then you can slide players over to "your queue" and wait for your turn to draft.
There's all sorts of stuff to check out. Try the mock if you have time. It'll help. Scott came down and we did one together cause he's never drafted in yahoo, just espn. He liked it, and caught on real quick. It's really pretty simple. :tu

Thanks Scott!

I was asking if you will be picking who gets what draft position or will yahoo do it?

I see. :)
Yahoo picks the draft order. It works kinda neat. It goes 1-10, then the tenth guy gets the 11th pick and it goes backwards till it gets to the first guy, then the first guy gets the next pick and it goes to the tenth, and so on.
It evens things up pretty good. :tu

they're all aquiver with fear, andy

speaking of smack talk -- i hope we all visit this thread often during the course of the season to talk smack; fo r me, it's half the fun. the other half being whipping people's asses in the league.

It's a good thing I checked this thread. I mentioned to Lisa that my draft was tomorrow night at 8. She said "that's tonight, honey."
I've been sick the last two days, we expect it's strep. I don't know what strep is, so I just ignored it. It's kinda cool, I can't remember the last two days.
Point being, I'm done sweating now.
It'd be a good time for you mooks to start. :tu

Ya you picked last and ended with 2 top 10 RBs. They are both predicted to have huge seasons.

I should have paid more careful attention to the rules of your contest. I wouldn't have chosen an IR'd Brownie with my last pick to give me two (and the outright win). That way the troops would have gotten 10. :bh

I will forgo my winnings and ask that you donate them to the troops instead.

I would like to make a suggestion- Instead of us shipping all kinds of cigars all over why don't we keep a running tab here on the board and on the Yahoo site. Then send them out after like week 8 and again at the end. The money saved in shipping each week could just be thrown in the box to help ship to the troops. Ideas?

Next How about a one cigar to the troops per transaction fee?

Next an Arrest pool? If anyone has a player get arrested everyone sends him 2 sticks and he has to send 5 to the troops?

Vin I'll bet you 2 sticks for the troops I have a higher score then you week 1!!!

I'd get in on the arrest pool.
I'd also try to get all the bets, sidebets, and all that stuff in one post and keep it updating and being added to. That way we have all our bullsh!t in one spot and everyone can watch what's going on.
I suppose I'll have to put that together, but guys can add to it as we go.

How can both of us guarantee a week one victory?
I'll let you go ahead and look at your team, and then you can use your one and only guarantee retraction for the season.
I think everyone should only get one guarantee retraction this season. Except George. He can have all he wants.
