Nope, that ain't the way it works. The NCAA makes no comments about ongoing investigations until they BOTH conclude them AND decide just exactly how hare to smash the hammer down.

Not sayin' you're cooked . . . just sayin' it ain't safe to come outta the basement yet.

Have any Gator fans noticed that UCLA was actually a big help to us during three of our championship years? During the 06 football championship year, the only reason we were able to go was because UCLA beat USC which cleared the way for us. During the 1st basketball championship we beat UCLA in the title game and for the 2nd championship we beat them in the 1st final four game which put us into the game with OSU.....

So UCLA both winning and losing has helped us along the way.... I just thought it was an interesting side note that they were a random out of conference team that UF hopscotched over or benefited from their successes in order for us to get to our championships. So go Bruins...kinda

I'm so desperate for some football i just finished watching a pop warner game behind my apt. not bad actually, close to the caliber of the WAC or PAC 10 :r

Well I knew that most of you just couldn't wait for me to check in. I know more than
a few of you who were thinking this was gonna be a great year since I had not popped in
over 4 pages. Sorry Greg, lol. This MIGHT be the best season of SEC football in a decade.
So many great teams have to actually SHOW their credentials to get in. UF lost a ton of people,
but I think they actually recruited enough show-stoppers to negate all that. Still, some teams
are gonna give em a run as these new kids get their cleats under em. A couple coaches
will be fighting for their lives as well. Some new coaches might even feel a lil nervous. And
what's the most interesting game of the week next week?? Memphis and Miss St., lol.

OOOPps, forgot LSU-NC. WOW. I am no giant fan of NC, but this should be a scare for both teams.
Who knows who will win that one.

Well, gonna be without the 2009 Heisman Trophy winner for opening day, and IMO, probably a couple more games. Had the knee scoped this morning. And for those of you not familiar, say hello to Trent Richardson and Eddie Lacy.

Alright boys, I hail from a PRO sports town....EAGLES football rules the airwaves round here....A Penn State football fan and big Temple basketball supporter....However, I'm intrigued by this SEC football thread...Who should I root for?....Convince me!...Should I roll with the Tide?... Keith! Don't do it brother!!! Don't be one of "those guys" that jump on the hot team bandwagon!

Ride the Vol train to Rocky Top. :) Might be a longer trip back to the top for UT, but it's the journey that makes it. And the Vols are a team with history that isn't the glamour team of the year. Jumping on the Gator or Bama bandwagon now would be akin to jumping on the Cowboy bandwagon (when they're good :))...being from the Philly area, I know you wouldn't do that, would you? :D

I've been a fan of theirs since high school. I had never liked (and still don't like) Notre Dame football, and when I was young and impressionable I happened upon an incredible comeback by the Vols against the Irish. (Here's a link to the story from the SI Vault) If I rooted for them or not before that game, I'm not sure, but, like Keith said, this area of the country isn't exactly a college football hotbed.

"My team" is actually Rutgers. I'm an alum; the class of '96. The program has just recently become relevant, but since attending I have been a fan. I get to one or two games a year.
