Yesterday was a GREAT friggin day! Being a Jets fan and living in upstate NY is never much fun... but yesterday, my team slapped the shizz out of the local favorites. I'm positively giddy. Now with the Pats dropping the ball, there's a 3-way tie in my division. If Favre can keep his head out of his ass, we could have a good season...

:D

GO CARDS!

We have a winning record at the midway point for the first time EVER! (in AZ, they had a winning record at midway in 84 but they were in StL) And we have a 3 game lead in the NFC West. I think the Cardinals are the team to go the longest without a Division Title, 33 years...second place was like Cleveland at 14 years.

It seems since Michael Bidwill tookover as Pres, things have been turning around slowly. It will be interesting to see what they do this offseason, they have some very tough decisions. Boldin wants a new contract, so does Dansby, so does Warner. What do you do with Leinart.

GO CARDS!

Monday Night Football: 49ers vs. Cards. This is a good game. I thought Arizona would run away w/ it, but SanFran has held them at bay so far.

Pulling for the Niners and Singletary, but that last pick may kill them.

It appears to be the last nail in the coffin. Still winnable by SanFran, but not likely.

Best Game I've Seen in a Long Time!! Came down to the wire. I thought the 49ers were gonna come back and get it w/ :04 to go. Outstanding effort by both teams!

Great Monday night game. The Cards were trying every way possible to lose and they came away with a victory.

Would love to see them go all the way again this year. Tough schedule coming up the next few weeks for them though. They need to step their game up from here on out.

The tie by the terrible team known as the Bengals is just more proof why the NCAA is better than the NFL. NO TIES :bh

They are struggling a little early.

Surely, Atlanta can't keep that up!

Sure hope I'm wrong, but I have a bad feeling about today. They're playing just as bad as they have the last two weeks. They have to step their game up to Atlanta. Maybe they'll comeback after the half like they did w/ Arizona.

That was bad. I thought we had a chance in the third quarter, but then they started sucking again.:fl

True. The third quarter was the best football the Panthers have played since the game against Arizona.

Re: Official NFL Football Thread

As an original Houston/Tennessee fan, I'm a bit sad after the loss today.

I know I shouldn't have been, and wish the lost came against the NFC (I'd much rather have lost to GB, Minnesota, or Chicago)... I remember the last team to lose one game all year long, and I'm sure that the Patriots loyal fans would have preferred the loss to come in November.

Jeff Fisher is probably the best head coach in the game, and he'd be much more likely to put starters up on the shelf once home field was clenched.

A few thoughts on the game:

Tennessee's running game was absent again today, and the defense gave up a bit more 'short yardage' passes than they should have.

Brett Favre is still a real threat, and the J E T S are one game closer to winning one of the toughest divisions in football.

Kerry Collins is still the answer to the QB non-controversy. I felt sorry for the Titans receivers who kept getting hit directly on the hands and between the numbers all day.

I'm pulling hard for the Chargers tonight. Would be nice to lock down the division sooner so that guys can rest.

A Jets loss brings a first round bye, and things are looking good at the half!

Went to Qwest field today to see my beloved Pats on the road against the hawks. First time Ive gotten to go to a pats game in ten years! Wow, Talk about some bad defenses. Felt good there though, and reminded me of how much I miss being able to go to games.
