Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
If anyone ever wondered about the construction of a Diesel take a look at this:
Cellphone pic http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/pictur...pictureid=3720 This pic was taken after 1 hour 23 minutes in... Tasty and holds together perfectly! :ss |
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars

Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
GAH!!!!! just read this thread and promptly ordered a box with the $1 cutter add on
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
So after reading this thread I smoked one of these had been given to me; never had one before. I was pleasantly surprised...a very good smoke.
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
I have a 10-pack of these that I got right after the release. They've been resting patiently because it's too frickin' cold to smoke. This week it might warm up a bit and I think this will be the one I try, you guys are making them sound pretty good :)
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
I've still got 3/4 of a box from a few months ago when I ordered... I think I'll dig one out for my monday lunch smoke..

Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
Cigarbid has some Diesel boxes available. I don't know if the quickbuy price is still applicable since there are already bids, but this is a good deal.

Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
These tend to go over retail as I have been watching them and the people that have been saving the most money on them are the ones doing the quick buy option. Cigar Bid is notorious for going over retail but some of the lots I have been watching lately have been ridiculous. I guess it's been a blessing that I have not been able to score any deals over there lately. If going the C-Bid route I would just do the Buy it now price as that is still almost $13 savings.:2
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
I have seen some go over retail which is foolish to say the least. Especially whenever CB has an Anejo or an Opus.
As far as this price, $87.50 is pretty good. And if the Colibri cutter from CI doesn't mean anything to you, it makes sense to go this route. |
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
Jump on it. I just paid $100 from CI!
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
BTW, my box was sitting on the porch when I got home today... I have it sitting out in the living room to admire it's beauty.

Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
For those of you considering jumping on the qb price on CBid.. DO IT. I paid $100 shipped for my box from cigar.com..

mine should be arriving tomorrow, cant wait to try one of them

Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
I had my first one a couple days ago, urged on by this thread.
The construction was impeccable--perfect draw, perfect burn, and the ash held for over 1/2 the stick (ashed only the once). The flavors were good, but the stick needs more rest for the flavors to coalesce and smooth out, imvho. I think that with some rest these could be VERY good cigars for the money. I'm glad I got a 10-er. |

Decisions, decisions. The Diesels are great, but those Reposados would be great golf smokes. They last forever. :ss Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
got mine today and they look nice :dr however the cutter is not that great, the blades are sloppy and dont make a clean cut. has anyone else tried the cutter? I am not complaining for $1 though
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
I seem to have gotten a clean cut.

Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
I hate that word rest. I am giving mine a few days to acclimate, then I will try one. Maybe even tomorrow night. Does anyone know how long it takes a cigar to get acclimated to its new temp and humidity? CI says it stores at 70* and 70%. I keep mine at 70* and 62%.
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars

I think it took about 2 weeks to get acclimated to 65% and they were smoking much better as far as flavor. :tu |

Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
They feel a lot moister than 70%!
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
Mine were quite wet.
Some of them had the celo stuck to them from over-humidification. |
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
I'm thinking they may be a little fresh. Wondering if they had to bump up production not expecting these would be such a hit out of the gate and they shipped to CI wet.
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
Mine were from before this recent restock.
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
Question: Was the last shipment the original release of the unholy cocktail? AND has anyone had a new production one that can compare and confirm they are the same blend?
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
Hard to tell, there is no box code that I can identify...

Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
Well was the last release the first time anyone had heard about Diesel cigars?
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
It appears the latest round of cbid does not have these listed
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
Got the Diesels today. The cutter works fine.
Need to let the cigars rest - journey was 2,534 miles from Bath PA. |
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
A lot of positive talk on these sticks. Should I get a fiver???

I'm smoking a '10 Diesel right now. Still wet and still need a few months rest. I'll revisit these at the end of April.
|
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
Bought 2 boxes...smoked one out of the box.
Awesome flavor and construction, a bit wet...I'm sure will be a go to stick after they do time. |
Re: Backordering Diesel Cigars
