I'm all about the Perdomo ESV 2nds ... dang good cigars. The RP Vintage '92 seconds are great too, and the x-out C (OWR) are good but not quite the real thing, imvho.

Had a Palma Real toro earlier today. For a buck a stick I would say it's worth it. Nice mild flavor, never turned harsh, good burn, nice draw. Good if you just want something to toss around.

It seems as though many of us here like the seconds. Me included. Especially the RP Vintage seconds and the Consuegras. My question is are the first rate ones that pass muster any better and if so by how much??

Re: Bundles, Seconds and Over-Runs

I have bought a few to try and like the Famous Nic 3000's but most others have let me down and also use a lot of humi room having to age them for months. Lately I have realized if I shop Monster & CI daily specials, etc I can buy some pretty nice stuff for $3 and under that are usually better than the bundle stuff. :2

Wrapper quality and appearance mostly are what's better. Better construction not as plugged? Maybe

I have it figured out now. I need to try one out I think before ordering a whole bundle, can you buy them in singles anywhere?

Do they run specials on these, or did the price jump up recently? Cheapest is $41.95 for the #1s in the new catalog. Debating between these (#2s, probably) and the LHOs...

They go on a weekend, or weekly special every few months. last time it was a catalog special meaning that it lasted about a month, for $29.99 for any size.

Torano Domincos
Bought a bundle of 20 of these for about 20 bucks from the devil sight and it's turning out to be agreat value. Not an awesome cigar but still it's a damn good cigar and for a buck it's a great value.

PM Me and i'll send you a couple in the natural wrapper....
Maybe another brother can hook "Both of us up in a maduro"... ;)

I wasn't that impressed with the natural wrapper...

Sounds like RP Fumas. I think they were exclusive to CI, but they don't seem to be available anymore, as they don't have them on the site.

Was this them? http://www.cigarbid.com/auction/lot.cfm?lotID=695299

Gary, when I first got my humidor the way I filled it up was with samplers and 5 packs.

Along with buying singles, I was able to get a nice variety of cigars without spending too much and was slowly able to figure out which ones I liked before I started "investing" in boxes.

Bundles, Seconds and over-runs are nice if you've tried the cigars they were originally supposed to be and liked them but if you haven't, you could end up with a bundle of sticks you don't care for and can't get rid of.

Just something to think about on your way down that slope. :tu

Got my Nic 3000s (one of the perks of being in NY: 1 day ground shipping from Famous, CI, and Holt's). They smell great, and I was suprised to find a couple of free Tabak Especial Negras in the box. No mention of this when I placed the order. Free cigars are cool. :tu

Good Bundle Smokes - but that said they need a nice long rest before they reach that point. Experience finds that 6 months to a year is good for them.

Btw, buying "mega-samplers" from CI is an incredibly cheap way of trying out a variety of smokes without breaking the bank but still filling up the humidor. Before investing in a single box, it gives you around 20 gars with 4-5 different blends in each sampler for the price of about $2.50-4 a stick(with many of them retailing for more than double or triple that, and just some great go-to sticks in general). Even though I have been smoking for about two years now, I have yet to make a single box purchase(but that is happening as soon as I return to the states :) ). I have solely purchased mega-samplers, 5'ers and singles but I don't regret it. It has provided me with experiencing dozens of different blends without emptying my wallet and now I have enough knowledge as to what blend I love and will buy by the box.

/end CI praise

I scored a great deal on Indian Tabac SF Maduros a month or so ago on the monster. I think they came out to about 3 bucks a piece for 6 x 50's, and boy are they smoking great.

Current CI catalog has 20 of the SF maddie toros for $39.99, and you can add a 5er of the natural robustos for another buck. :tu

The catalog expires on Friday for some reason, so I'm gonna jump on it if I have any cash left after V-Day shopping. These are one of my golf sticks, and if I get them now, they'll be smoking great come golf season.

I don't think I have had but one IT that I didn't care much for. That was the Classic (I think) it's a corojo if I remember correctly, and I didn't care for corojo early on, but have found that maybe I do like them now. So maybe soon I will try another one and see if I do indeed like it now.

These are "sandwich" cigars, made/blended by DPG and are pretty good value for the $$$. JMHO.

Question.... Which are better? The Tabacos Baez SF Maddies, or these Holt's
Fumadores? and also what are the differences.... Fumadores looks like a Criollo
wrapper... Just asking because the benchmade have a tannic/espresso profile
to them... Maybe they get better w/ age. I'll have to pull one out.

Kind of hard to compare a $140 box of TB to a $40box of short fillers.

Excel,
Can't say I'd ever had the TB Sf's but after looking at the prices I would say more than likely the Fumadores would win, especially at 30 bucks a bundle compared to 135-145 prices for the TB SF's on CI.

He was asking about the difference between $40 box of Fumadores, and a $40 box of TB SF.

I MUCH prefer the Fumadores. They have a significantly better flavor, and better construction IMO. The Tobacos Baez SF have a little of the tanic flavor that Benchmades have.

put me in with the RP vintage 2nds fans. I'm a 1990 guy myself. the PCs are my perfect go to quick smoke. I bought a box of 1990 PCs for cheap on cbid, and plan on just refilling it with 2nds. they aren't as pretty but they taste great, and are constantly up on cbid.

If you haven't tried Por Larranaga Panetelas($50.00) or Rafael Gonzalez Panetelas Extras($40.00), I really suggest you do. They are all handmade short filler, from their other cigars. They are a great everyday 45 minute smoke, maybe more depending on how quick you smoke. The construction on some of them suck along with a bad draw on a couple out of the box, but besides that they are worth every penny and more IMHO, I would probably actually pay x2 of what they cost...you will not be disappointed I guarantee you.......

no they def not be from the tat brown line, if they were it would be a tat cigar(like the serie p), this is a dpg cigar, so it would be from his stuff. I would def be interested in knowing how these taste. please do a review when you get them in!

Ive been smoking some Flor de Olivas that I got last summer. I must say....they have completely changed. The first couple that I smoked when I got them were terrible. Now after a little rest they are smoking and tasting great. I might have to get another bundle and put it down for a nap while Im still working on the current one.
