Part of the jokes appeal is lost if you arent willing to suspend disbelief for the time necessary to read through the joke. I personally really liked the joke, although I took the joke as more of a science/fantasy short story then a joke.

Great joke. I kind of expected it to end in the way that it did but the story was pretty entertaining in and of itself.
