I took it to a guy who used to repair electronics...he found a blown fuse. I picked up some replacements and am going to see if that works without blowing again.

Make sure that you can bring it back and get a refund if your not happy with it though. In a couple of days put the old one in the box and return it and get your money back.

It probably is.

Toshiba has had problems with their power supplies for years.

Did you try taking it back to the store you bought it from? They may just swap it out for the same model, especially if it's a big box store. Also, sometimes warranties have a grace period. I know new home warranties in the state of NJ have an unstated grace period of one month. That would be the first thing I would try. :2

Thanks for the ideas Joel. I bought it from Amazon...so no luck there.

If it blew right as you plugged it in, then I'd be investigating the power supply for sure.

Especially with no LED error codes..

Well I found the power supply board online and got it in yesterday...replaced what was in the tv and it came back to life. hooray! The cost was $100 compared to the $400 estimate from a repair shop.

Just had to put a new lamp in my DLP. It was much easier than I expected and cost me only about $85. I can only imagine what a repair shop would have wanted to do it.

Not too bad...unscrewed the back...popped off a couple of connectors...unscrewed the board...put the new one in...reconnected the connectors. Took maybe 10 minutes total.
