Re: Throwing away the bands
I voted for keeping them
I keep mine. I have a journal type book and I glue them in it with a glue stick. Kind of keeps a history of what i have smoked. Then again I am still pretty n00by. Who knows how long the journal will last. :2 |
Re: Throwing away the bands
I keep almost all of mine, dunno if I'll ever do anything with them....but at least I'll have them if I get inspired

Re: Throwing away the bands
They usually sit on a table or in my pocket for awhile before I finally throw my bands away. I have good intentions of keeping them, but it doesn't happen. After reading this thread though, I think I will start saving them in case someone wants them.
That being said, I voted for you to keep them. |
Re: Throwing away the bands
I keep mine until someone speaks up that they need some bands for a project. :)
|
Re: Throwing away the bands
I voted no because most of the time I don't keep them unless it's something special.
|
Re: Throwing away the bands
I voted no cause one of these days I or one of my friends will make something out of them

Re: Throwing away the bands
If I kept everthing that 'I might someday find a use for', I'd be living in a junk heap. Why not just post a thread asking if anybody wants 'em (though I suspect this thread might become that ;)), and ship them to a good home. If there are no takers, then pitch 'em. You can always get more!

Re: Throwing away the bands
I think I'm going to save them and eventually go through them and pick out 'the good ones' to do something with. Thanks for the ideas. :)

Re: Throwing away the bands
When I first started smoking 'gars I saved them and wrote a short
note about how I liked/disliked the cigar on the back. Now that I know what I like, I chuck 'em. The golf course maint. crew has mulched up quite a few. I saved the band from the first OpusX I ever smoked stashed in a place that I see regularly, and where it won't be disturbed.(It's in my briefcase in a clear plastic pocket intended for business cards, but I don't need business cards for my work.) Chemyst :cool2: |
Re: Throwing away the bands
I did find a use for a couple of the old, empty boxes
accumulating dust in the corner. I bought a couple of bundles of RP X-outs "C"s from CI/Cbid and put them in two of the old cedar boxes for aging. Hopefully in a year they will taste nearly identical to OWRs. (only 6 mos. more to go, now) Mmmm...mmmm...goood! Chemyst :cool2: |
Re: Throwing away the bands
Send them to me I'm finally making my cigar band art piece, in fact anyone that wants to part with theirs I'll take them. That being said, I almost cried when I added up the value of all those smokes, could have paid for my car in cash, but then again there are many great memories associated with those that I wouldn't trade.

Re: Throwing away the bands
I try and keep all of mine. I have a glass vase that I throw them in. I have even kept the tubos too. Not sure why on that one.

Re: Throwing away the bands
I toss 'em now except for a few rare ones or ones I like the look off. I saved up some at one point and had my sister make me a book mark out of them. I use it all the time.
