I either toast then draw while applying the flame, or go pretty heavy on the torch then blow on the lit end to make sure its evenly lit, then have at it.

Also I meant to ask if anyone else has as much trouble with torch lighters as me. I've been through 5 or 6 lighters (good ones like colibri and firebird) this summer. They end up not igniting or sparking. Maybe I need to go to a different way like matches only.

Get yourself a Ronson Jet Lite. You can find them for <$4 at Wally World and Walgreen's.

Ronson Jetlite @ $2.96/Walmart will light one strike every time and ticks for a long long time.

I have a Dupont X-tend about 3 years old and it is very dependable also.

Blazers are very dependable but some questions about life expectancy beyond a year or so. Very Good Though.:2

Toast foot evenly and then puff away. :ss

I try not to let the foot get too close to the flame, just barely putting the edge next to the top of the flame and rotate until it gets going all the way around. Then I put the flame up to the foot while I take few shallow puffs to get the whole thing orange. The smaller the RG, the easier the process. If I'm smoking a lancero or something really thin, I don't bother toasting.

It makes me cringe when I see people just burn the crap out of the end, taking huge puffs with the flame on the foot.

Thanks for the posts people. I'll check out the ronson jet lite.
Hate spending $ on lighters. Rather spend it on a good cigar!

Have a great one!
