Thanks for the tip, I'll do that. :tu
I hate to sell of these knives, but they just sit in the safe. I'd rather move them to someone who will get more enjoyment out of them, and buy something I'll use as an EDC.

If you send me all the info you have on/about the knife I can ask for you. I have a paid membership there.

Thanks! I may take you up on that, I'm going to try microholics and another knife board as well, just to see what the market is like. If there isn't enough interest out there or the values aren't what I'm comfortable with, I'll gladly keep these and save up for the Sebbie.

Finally put my Microtech and Dalton up for sale a couple days ago, started the values on the high end of what I've found and have been slowly dropping them until I get a buyer or hit the minimum price I'll take for each.

Just ordered this Kryptoglow scale for my ZT 0550, the stock scale is the only thing I do not love about the knife:

Geez I leave this thread for a while and it blows up! Some great pickups around here for sure. I did get a new custom Benchmade grip from the wife for Christmas but haven't got any pictures to post up yet.

I did receive an email from one of the makers that I ordered a custom from so that should be coming in the next month or 2. I will try to get some pics up as soon as I can of that.

Keep those pics coming! :tu

Got an unexpected bonus at work, and the wife said I should buy that knife I've been wanting :tu Now to figure out what to get...really torn between the classic small sebenza, or the small with snake wood inlay. Wilson Combat has their large starbenza in stock as well as the Star-Tac, which is an unum.

Decisions, decisions, and I'd better act fast before she can change her mind :lr

OUt of the ones you mentioned Brian, I would go with the Star-Tac without question...

Mainly, because I like the umnum much more than the sebbies. :tu

I think I'm going to wait to get the star-tac, the Sebbie has been a grail knife for me for about 10 years. I think I'm finally settled on the small with the insingo blade. I really like the wood inlay but I'm not convinced they'll hold up to daily carry as well and worth the extra cost.

Or not...pulled the trigger on the snakewood inlay today. Did some research on the inlays and they seem like they're stuck in there pretty good, plus I know CRK stands behind their work.

Depends on your definition of "cheap".

What is your price range?

Check out Kershaw and SOG, both have some reasonably priced models.

That is one cool looking knife. After seeing your post I looked into CR knives a little. Didn't realize your knife is titanium, very cool, they have a great looking line up.

Congrats.

The only thing I can think of is a chinese Kershaw in that price range. I personally stay away from assited opening knives and flippers in most cases, personal prefference however with a cheap assisted you have a high risk of the assist failing eventually. And it also limits your options :2

The real questions is what do you intend to do with the knife.
Open mail, open boxes, widdle, self defense, prybar, etc...?
Do you need it to be light weight, small, large, etc...?

If you are going to go chinese, you might as well go Spyderco. But prolly not much there in the way of assisted.
Spyderco makes the best chinese blades, not good steel obviously but fit and finish is good.

The kershaw skyline is an excellent american steel, light weight and slim that fits into a pocket. Not assisted though. One of the all time classic EDC knives that fits your budget. Not a tactical design though, better for letter opening as the blade is slim and it only has a single liner.

I have a partial-serrated assisted chinese kershaw. I did some not great filing of the scales to make it more comfortable in the hand. If you want it, it's yours and $50 under budget.

Re: (Official?) Pocket Knife Discussion Thread

A good, cheap assisted blade would be the Kershaw Cryo which sells for around $30. It's big brother the Cryo 2 should be coming out soon for about 40.

You can also look at the Kershaw Leek, assisted and made in the USA for around 40 or the Blur also US made for around 50. :tu

People do love those Cryos, excellent recommendation! :tu
It is an affordable version of a great design.
If you are set on assisted and are okay with chinese steel this is a sure winner!

For about $15.00 over budget you could get a Kershaw knockout, USA knife!

All good recommendations, have to admit, I was tempted to add a Cryo to my cart this weekend when placing an order to qualify for free shipping. Opted for a flashlight instead.

So some of you may have seen my Silent Soldier Flipper for sale. I notated a disclaimer that it had some minor blade rock. I sent Jason Brouse an e-mail stating such. He said "Send it to me, I can fix it". I shipped it out and it came back perfect and solid at no charge. He also included a few stickers and a cool sheep skinned lined pouch.
You can judge customer service on how they respond to a problem, and gotta say Jason is awesome!!!
