Re: Photography Thread
Not too sharp at all, but the pose was great. I had to shoot over a bunch of wild kids, and it was almost a
reflex popping off a shot, since I saw the Orang Utan was swinging wildly...I was kinda running by. THE THINKER http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/...psde3f6625.jpg |

Re: Photography Thread
Oops, I forgot to share that last tiger photo....I called this tiger melanistic, that was wrong.
I think it is even wrong to call it a cross-bred Bengal Tiger. This is just a recessive trait from what I gather. This tiger is this color for the same reason that the White Tiger is white. Not Albinism, just an expression of a recessive gene. This is what the zoo calls "strawberry colored". We of course know that this is called a Ginger Tiger, lol. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/...ps2b63bb43.jpg While I am on that subject, too, remember I said EVERY TIME the regular bengal tiger passed the strawberry tiger, it caused a turf war response. They can be in the same enclosure, but the Ginger Tiger takes offense when the other Bengal comes within a pre-defined space, and man, does she flare back and roar....Here you see this in action. For what its worth, the regular Bengal makes absolutely no sign that he even notices, but he doesn't LOOK at her either. http://i1294.photobucket.com/albums/...psa12fcc7c.jpg |

Re: Photography Thread
Heres some more from the trip. The two birds and the monkeys were shot thru mesh screens and the komodo was shot thru glass.

Re: Photography Thread
So I guess there is no longer any question that it was the camera all this time holding you back.
I bet you about 5hit yourself when you got home and saw the photos. Since you are not a Brad, and you don't talk much about buying new this or that, I am guessing that is the 18-55mm? I never thought that much about those lenses til I strapped it onto that D90. Turns out it can be razor sharp. And the D90 is a color master. I am HIGHLY impressed by your color, clarity and crispness. The gauntlet has been thrown down, lol. |
Re: Photography Thread
The lighthouse one and the one of the rocky ledge along the shore were the 18-55, but the others were the 50mm 1.8G

Not all sandy beaches. A lot of that rock is close to a half billion years old.

Re: Photography Thread
This is called Miner's Castle. It doesn't look much like a castle anymore, since a chunk of the formation broke off a few years ago. This is also the 18-55 lens.
