We are too nice to the Yankees sometimes. We figure that letting you guys beat us, it will take a little heat off the steroid thirdbaseman you have:r

Ozzie is Ozzie. He has won a world series so he has a handle on things.

By the way, is there even heat on Alex?

It is the same thing with Ortiz in Boston. A-Rod is also in a good situation where the players around him are producing and the team is not leaning on him to do it all.

Im sure if Ortiz was hitting homeruns, things would be different in Boston right now. Or maybe the fans would over look it, I know thats kind of what LA has done with Manny.

Hey...hey..A-rod admitted to steroid use, Ortiz's name was on a list along with 103 other players, big difference? Nothing was proved, until the list comes out it don't mean jack.
Who ever is leaking this stuff has some kind of ax to grind? names get dropped at opportune times before the start of the season, before the all star break.

Ortiz is on a list of people that have tested positive for ped's. That was proved. We just don't know what drug/steriod he took.

Giants pick up Penny...not sure if this helps. Especially the way he pitched for the Red Sox. Maybe the change of scenary will do him some good.

The guy throws 95-96 and gets hammerd the fast ball has no movement on it?
He will probably do well in the NL ?

The NL is a much easier league for pitchers.

White Sox trade Thome and Contreras....looks like they have thrown in the towel. ;) :<

Thome's bat is a great pick up, but he is going to hurt them at firstbase.

I don't see how Contreras helps the Rockies though. He has pitched horrible this year.

With James Loney there...he will never see first base.

Well that is not going to help get to 600 HRs.

He'll only be there til the end of the year. Dodgers need some more pop for the playoffs. In the off season, he'll be traded back to the AL.

He can only hope.

I also like Contreras going to Colorado. I can't wait to see how far his pitches go at that altitude. :r

Isn't that why they signed Giambi?

I've always liked Garland and Thome will certainly add in some oomph.

kelmac07 09-01-2009 10:21 AM

Giambi is a Rockie not a Dodger. May be LAs answer to Colorados signing of Giambi.

Glad to see Contreras get out of chicago actually. He played like ass this year(I loved Jose in 05 though:D). I hate to see Thome leave. LA is getting a great bat and also a great guy in the clubhouse. I guess people can look at this as throwing in the towel. The cubs threw theirs in a while ago, so why not us;)

Thome will be missed:sad

The Cubs didn't throw the towel in. They had it thrown at them, and it hit them square in their yambags...what a disappointment. :r

Thome turns the Dodger Lineup into an AL lineup in the AL park during the WS, not sure they should be looking that far ahead tho.

Yankees win tonight with a walk off HR from Nick Swisher in the bottom of the 9th inning. It was the 13th walk off win for the Yankees this season.

I was watching both Mets/Yanks games as I drafted fantasy football team #3 tonight, with the benefit of not having to listen to the broadcasts. I saw 2 of the three strikeouts, he looked terrible, but his last atbat with the lineout to left, he finally looked as if he had his swing back.
