Big game tonight for the Wild and they look good already. Peppering Luongo so far. Would love to see them blow them out of their own building!:sl

Re: NHL 2013 Thread

Team is officially a Fuc&ing disaster.
Sharks give up 2 goals in 34 seconds. They call a timeout and almost get scored on after timeout. Couture draws a penalty. You would think good things would happen. Nope Sharks give up a short handed goal. Within a few minutes game goes from 1-1 to 4-1.

Hate saying it, but at this point something has to be done. The other day on NHL network they were listed as the biggest disappointment in the West. Seems like D is consistently not getting back.

Redemption for the Hawks.

Pat Foley (Hawks play by play guy) said he thought the Avs win against the Hawks a week ago would be a turning point for them...instead, they eeked out a win Vs the Sharks and now have lost 4 straight....last place in the West. They have so much talent up front, I am not sure where the problem lies.

With the Sharks, it's pretty apparent that D is the problem.

Mike and E.J., hope both teams get it straightened out for the fans' sake.

Great win, by a team that is playing well from top to bottom right now. Getting good minutes and effort from all four lines. Backstrom has been really solid bordering on spectacular. Bouchard has really responded after being a healthy scratch for three games. He has that 2nd line really hopping.
Brodin is a very skilled young defenseman who is getting a ton of minutes for a rookie. Fun team to watch right now.

Honestly watching less of them and more of other teams. I am struggling to listen to the announcers on both radio and tv candy coating things. Thank full for GCL. Plenty of teams playing exciting hockey to follow. Hell the Jackets are playing more exciting hockey then the Sharks.

Yes. Brodin is really impressive. So calm with the puck and now he's starting to find his scoring touch. Gotta think Suter has helped him a great deal. I agree completely with Bouchard. He was playing worse than I'd ever seen him play, they scratch him for three games and now he's playing the best hockey I've ever seen him play. Looks like a mini Parise with how hard he's working out there.

Rask fails again, it's one thing to have a really solid D in front of you to make you look like a great goalie....but at some point you have to be able to stop shots when it counts.

Two best teams in the West tomorrow night, the Hawks with 2 regulation losses and the Ducks with 3.

No Perry for Anaheim (suspended), no Hossa for Chciago (injured). All 4 goaltenders playing lights out all season...should be a great game.

Let's Go Hawks!

Side note....the Coyotes have been shutout 3 straight games, and have no goals through 2 periods tonight against LA. Couldn't happen to a better bunch of pr*cks. :r

Another big win for the Wild over Detroit. They look so relaxed and smooth right now. Two more goals for Setoguchi. Great game great stretch for my favorite team!

Wow Sharks pushing back after imploding.
Jones strips Irwin of the puck behind the net, Boyle does a flyby. Jones does a wrap around on Niemi. Rumor is Sharks are shoping Boyle and Clowe. I believe both rumors are true. Think thats why the Sharks have moved Burns to forward to see if he can replace Clowe.

Great Hawks - Ducks game, 64 bad seconds cost the Hawks the win, but Getzlaf is a force.

I thought the Sharks were gonna dump again, Mike, a nice comeback win for them. Clowe has been brutal this year though, Burns has been more effective in a week than Clowe was in almost 2 months.

Burns has some nice hands and does have a scoring touch. Also is a big body in front of the net. The Wild had played him just about the same way the Sharks have played him. Defense, to forward, and then back to defense. Kid can play.

First game I have missed in a while. Wild are playing extremely well. Hopefully they can continue to jell into the playoffs. Very fun to watch right now.

Expecting Nash and Edler to get suspensions.
It must be something in the water in Vancouver. Its crazy how players turn into dbags there. He has a hearing today and I hope they throw the book at his ass. There was just no reason to do it and he clearly cocked the elbow and targeted the head.

Rick Nash decided to go WWE Kevin Nash witha flying elbow to the back of the head. The league cant pull the its a star card. He deserves multiple games imho

6 in a row for the Wild! Great win in Dallas for the first time in over 10 years. Playing very solid in all aspects right now. When Yeo can basically run 4 lines, it's a beautiful thing.

Sharks trade Murray for a 2nd round pick this year and a 3rd round pick next year. Not suprised they moved him. He was painfully slow and a -8. The question is do they move clowe with the emergence of burns as a point per game forward. Boyle has made it harder for the sharks to trade him with his recent play

Holy cow Brad M. just bounced the puck off the boards behind Price... skated to the other side of the net to get "his own pass" and put the goal in .. that was freaking amazing!

Re: NHL 2013 Thread

Looks like Jerome Iginla to Boston, no sure word, but the Baby Bs have a couple of their top prospects as scratches tonight as well.

Quote:

CALGARY, Alberta -- The Calgary Flames scratched Jarome Iginla from their lineup Wednesday night against Colorado amid trade speculation surrounding the longtime captain.

The 35-year-old Iginla, in his 16th season with the Flames, is in the final year of his contract. Calgary is 14th in the Western Conference and likely will miss the playoffs for the fourth straight season.

Iginla missed a game for the first time since April 7, 2007, ending his consecutive games streak at 441. He has nine goals and 13 assists in 31 games this season. In 1,219 career regular-season games, he has 525 goals and 570 assists.

Well first of all I would say they don't need him heh. I actually dislike the guy, dated a canadian girl for a few years (nucks fan ...gross) and learned to dislike him. The Bruins have really had trouble scoring lately and he'd fit in well... hopefully.

TYLLLLLLLER SEGUIN SHOT SCORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG .. Rask sucks ... the puck just slid across the ice and into the net.. wow you fing suck rask

Scary moment in the Wild game just now. Off the faceoff, Sullivan flips Charlie Coyle and his skate came up and caught him in the jaw. Reminded me of the Richard Zednik jugular cut a few years back. Luckily it was in the jaw and the back end of his skate.

But for the real news the Wild are up 2-0 and going for their 7th straight win. No Hawks streak but nice to see after a slow start.

NHL.com confrims Iginla to Boston. I wonder how much they gave up for what basically amounts to a rental.

Iginla has played for the Flames forever, but I respect and like the guy. I wish him the best, can't say the same for the Bruins. :lr

Wild are on a roll, would not want them in round 1 of the playoffs right now.

I was so glad that deal fell through, the bruins don't need a broken down circus dog. we have Horton with the same numbers and he sucks so bad it's not funny.
I am so sick of hearing nothing but Iginla talk this is not the same guy he was 4-5 years ago.
The Pens adding Iginla don't guarantee a cup still a long way to go.

Bruins are ranked 5th, Flames 26th. Not a valid comparison. Jerome is that team. Its a lot harder to score on a $hit club with no help. If anything it makes his numbers more impressive. He may very well play better now with better line mates and not having the same stress he was under from the media and being the captian of that team. Really need to wait a month or so before making that statement.

What do you hear for chatter out there Mike?
The Bruins have scouts bird dogging the Sharks Boyle...Clowe maybe both?:

Ahbroody 03-29-2013 12:49 PM

Re: NHL 2013 Thread

Just the clowe to bruins talk is popular. Think its definitely possible and kind of expect it with Burns playing how he is. Clowe would fit the Bruins model to a T. Big body can fight and score. If I was a Bs fan I would want him. Clowe is my second favorite Shark. Would love to see Burns and clowe on the same line just laying people out.

I think the fact that the Sharks are playing well will make it harder now to move boyle who has played out of his head lately and even dropped the gloves. His value is likely high now though so who knows. If they dont think they have a shot they can get in some young talent or picks Having moved Murray i dont know they will move boyle. Hes end of career though and with some teams in east being desperate they may do it for the right price.
