and a D90 with a 3.5-5.6 18-55mm and 'locked down' my ISO at 1250, too keep noise down, and then out-thought myself one step FURTHER, telling myself I did not have to shoot them wide open, no, I wanted the pictures to be SHARP, so I stop it down some, too, and I get home and I have a mountain of blurred photos, and weak focus from shake. And weak focus from zone errors, stuff like perfectly focused MICROPHONES and 5hit like that. SUCH an amateur. I sat there and shot on ridiculously low shutter speeds, CAUSE I AM SMART, I KNOW MORE THAN A CAMERA. Stuck that sucker in A-priority to keep my photos 'sharp', lol. Stupid a55. I mean, I DID get some great shots. I always find a way. But the ratio is laughable. |
Re: Photography Thread

They are not the showpiece items that allow me to shoot tele in a bar or football games or anything, but a good mix of ranges in AF-D lenses and some nice AIS pieces in primes. Got a 2.8 24mm AI, a 3.5 135mm AI, a 1.8 50mm AF-D, a 35mm 1.8 AF-S, a 35-135mm AF-D, a sharp 70-210mm AF-D, my Sigma 10-20mm, so I have things I can use. What lacks in me at the moment is smarts and technique. I do dumb things and use lazy technique. Its the viewfinder curse....you SEE a great picture, never knowing that what you are actually recording is digital SHI+. And I am blind as a frickin bat. That never helps in a 'focus' hobby. |

I should have sent that mistake D700 back to BH and said, "Hey how about an honesty discount on another one off your shelf? Maybe picked up a polished one for 1300.... NO D90, No 2 D200s, no $75 D50. No $99 D-70 with 69k snaps. |

I am thinking about plunking down my $15 bucks in the morning for the Memphis Zoo.
Pull nice save out of my butt for the weekend. TODAY waas so nice, I think lot of folks hit the zoo, I think I can beat the after church crowd if I open the place up at 9am. Makes sense to me. Maybe I will get lucky. |
