Another great game. Hard to believe the Cardinals couldn't take advantage of Gios seven walks.

I used to think Inge was a good guy but he made a number of really shady statements. Basically blamed his poor performance, for the past 2-3 years, on lack of consistent playing time, weather, and the toothfairy. He WAS a huge fan favorite before he started that crap. By the end he had turned loyal fans against him. It eventually got so bad he was booed every time he took the plate. I hate to say it but I too like him and was turned off by his statements. Glad he's gone. Good luck with him.

:sh :D I don't know what you're talking about. I watched the game. Sure there were a few questionable calls on balls/strikes but so many people take the stupid box graphic as gospel. Please don't. IMO it's usually indicitive as to where the ball's at when it's caught, not when it was over the plate.

One for your guys, Garry....superbly pitched game by the A's....only 5 balls out of the infield all game, 3 singles and two robberies of Prince. Sanchez pitched great, A's just pitched better.

Screwed? Nah....Crisp made a great catch on a home run ball, but he had a bead on it the entire way. Cepedes made a nice diving grab of what could have been a pop single.

I was really impressed by Anderson's ability to get the ground ball outs. Glad he is done pitching for the season now. ;) :r

I thought Leyland played with fire again. He sent Coke out to face righties for the second game in a row. Righties are hitting what .430 against him this year? He's figgen killing me with that stuff. :hn

icehog3 10-10-2012 11:45 AM

Re: MLB 2012 Thread

Yup, Leyland's pitching choices have been questionable....specially continuing to use Benoit in the 8th, when it seems like he gives up a home run 2 out of every 3 appearances the last month.

Re: MLB 2012 Thread

Great comeback by the A's, a heartbreaker for a Tiger's fan like me.

The bad news: The A's have all the momentum, and the emotion.

The good news: The Tigers have maybe the top pitcher in baseball to pitch Game 5.

The Tigers' big bats aren't inspiring much confidence in me right now. I think to pull it off, they will need a big performance from Verlander, and a couple of role players to come up big. Oh, and maybe Benoit to get lost on his way to the ballpark. :r

Well that changes things IMO. No way the A's would take game 5 in Detroit. But in Oakland, I see the A's pulling it out.

In JV we trust. I'm hoping hit throws a CG shutout. NO BULLPEN. Although the only BP pitcher that failed yesterday was Papa Grande.

About as much chance of that as of Benoit making the All Star team next year. :r

Doesn't seem to be a factor with him in the least. Pitches 120+ most games too.

Giants preparing to have a Tigersesque meltdown in the bottom of the 9th.
