Glad you enjoyed it, Dave! I smoked the Trini, and it didn't need any time at all, it was superb, so thank you!

Glad you enjoyed it!!! They have gotten much better with a few years on them I have to say. I’m also happy it was ready to smoke and was hoping it was so.

From icehog, a great Vega Robaina robusta. I assume this cigar had some age on it but if not, wow, this size really shines. Creamy cedar as the core flavor with leather and strength picking up as the cigar progressed. No young taste at all. This was a great cigar for Good Friday and my work travel finally abating for a bit. Great celebration cigar!!!!

Thanks!!!

You're welcome! I might have forgotten to mention, since you should have 1 more of that cigar, I think it in particular smokes better at a lower rh (62-65 range)...gives it more of a medium-full body but that's just my :2
Glad you enjoyed it though, btw I'm saving your Lunatics & Aniversario's for my June & July vacations! :noon

Last week I had a wonderful BBF from Cigarnut while smoking together in Disney Springs.

Thanks for the great stick, Michael, and thanks for taking the time to come out and smoke.

A new AJ from gomeitsmybday!!! Nice addition to a classic line if I say so myself. More Corojo if my palate serves me correctly and some decent strength.

Oh good!! I'm glad you liked it!! I actually still haven't gotten around to trying one myself yet, but I knew you also liked AJ's stuff and it's supposed to be a good one...i just put a couple in at 62 rh so will hopefully get around to finally trying one in the next week or so :tu

Gomeitsmybday gave this cigar to me in a trade we worked out trying to try new cigars without buying boxes hah.

We both share a love of Aganorsa leaf and this is a decent representation of the tobacco. The wrapper seems more fragile then normal but never split or crack so what do I know. Flavors were good but not as intense as a regular Casa Fernandez or Warped cigar.

I would guess this is cheaper then those two and at a lower price, definitely a value but that is just a guess.

Thanks!!

Oh good I'm glad you enjoyed it and I think your review is spot on! I also prefer stuff that is more full bodied but knowing you hadn't tried this one before, I was curious to see what you thought. It's definitely not up there with the higher end Warped & Casa Fern stuff but I think it's pretty solid for its price point, particularly if you can find them on sale.

Btw - I'm planning on smoking one or two out of your sampler later this week but will be on vacation in a cabin in the woods with no cell service (yes, basically like the movie Evil Dead) so I will probably post reviews when I can find a few bars or get back to town. :noon

Montecristo No. 3 or 4 thanks to DMK! This is actually the first Cuban Montecristo I've had and it's very nice, definitely a lot stronger than I expected it to be, which is a nice surprise. :tu

JFR Lunatic Habano Short Robusto thanks to mi amigo, Tio Gato. He sent me some after I posted about having to purchase the El Chiquito due to most places being sold out of the Short Robusto and I must say - with good reason, as the Short Robusto is awesome.
The El Chiquito is good, but draw is way too loose and gets hot before you even reach the halfway mark.
I have to say, the draw on the Short Robusto is near perfect, similar to most Camachos I've had. Medium profile with lots of earthy flavor, really nice cigar. Thanks again for the tasty sticks Tio!

AJF Last Call Maduro Lonsdale - this one is thanks to my buddy Weelok! I'm a big fan of the Habano Last Call so im guessing that's why he sent this one, and it's a great choice!
Wrapper is definitely more rugged than its Habano wrapped relative, what some would refer to as "rustic" I imagine, but no less flavorful! I also like the size, as up until this stick, I'd only smoked the AJF Last Call Habanos in Coronas.
Another great trade with Weelok, this guy knows good cigars. :tu

Okay this has been some time coming, smoked most of these on vacation and was unable to post while I was away...all acquired via trades if memory serves correct...

Weelok/Last Call Maduro - really liked this one! No surprise because I love the Habano version, but yeah really tasty, definitely spicier than the Habano, thanks Weelok!!

Tio Gato/JFR Lunatic Short Robusto - this one was a winner! Much better than the absurdly shaped JFR El Chiquito, I'll be buying more of these in the future no doubt, thanks again Tio!

DMK/PLPC, Dunbarton Sobremesa & HUHC (I think!) - really enjoyed all of these with the exception of the Sombremesa, smoked fine but I think I prefer the Mi Querida...the PLPC was amazing, paired it with my morning coffee and could not have been better! Same goes for the HUHC, amazing flavor, only criticism is that I wish that it were a larger cigar. :D many thanks to DMK!

Oh good!! I'm glad you liked them! I was a little worried they might have gotten a little harsh from the shipping but it sounds like the boveda kept them fresh!
The H Upmann #2 is a big favorite of mine, I didn't like them initially, but after some rest in the humidor, they are a wonderful breakfast cigar/go wonderfully with a cup of coffee.

Btw, I would recommend a slightly lower rh for the Corto I sent you, it's pretty dense & oily so they seem to smoke better at the 62-65 range. But that's only a suggestion. :)

Yep! I believe that one is owned by Davidoff. Supposed to have 18 yo leaf which intrigued me enough to want to try it.

Glad you really liked the H Upmann. That one is pretty young too, smoking as well as it is, I'm thinking I'll have to find more soon!

San Lotano Reqiuem Maduro - courtesy of Weelok! I *think* this was a Reqiuem, all I remember for sure is San Lotano unbanded and Maduro (still saving the Habano!)
This is a very flavorful smoke, especially considering it dances along the medium to medium-profile line throughout the cigar. Starts off peppery and gives way to extremely tasty smoke, always with a touch of lingering pepper, which is really really nice.
I love the size, I wish regular production Reqiuems came like this.

Glad you liked it and I enjoy the heck out of these as well.

They are the San Lotano Small Batch and come in bundles of 20 for a very nice price for VIPs at under $4 a cigar.

Seconds? Over runs? Who knows but good.
