Jackets giving the Pens hell tonight - love it when the underdog does well.
Wonder what the Vegas odds are on them taking the series?

7 minutes later and Pens racked up three quick goals. That was a crazy stretch.

Doesn't matter where he is, the only real question is WHY is this guy still in the NHL.

Craziness. Home teams in the West are 11-0. Three West teams, down 2-0 in the serier, got shutouts from their goalies tonight.

Tyson Barrie out 4-6 weeks, It's shame, been a real breakthrough season for him.

Robadias from Anaheim broke the same leg that kept him out 2/3rds of the season again...fracured it right above the steel rod implanted last year.

I still think Reaves is a tremendous hypocrite.

Pretty disappointed to hear Barrie is going to be out 4-6 weeks. I am interested to hear what the league is going to do with Cooke.

The Avs need players coming off the injured list, not going on. Wonder where Sarich is at in his recovery, with Barrie out.... Not to mention Mitchell and maybe most importantly Duchene, who skated yesterday.

Have to give Varlamov more help.....

That sucked to watch. I feel for him. The Players from both teams were gut punched to watch that.

I'm not so sure he ever plays again. :(

So the Habs sweep it, albeit with the help of team stripey shirts in game 3 (some of the worst officiating one can hope not to see). Feel for the Bolts who've had a ghastly year. (ESP Stamkos, who is alround decent sort.)

Re: NHL '13-'14 Season Thread

Congrats to the Bolts on a good season, if Stamkos had been there for 82, and Bishop had been healthy at the end, who knows? They will be back next year.

Adam, how do you dis Rask's performance today?

Sharks got the first road win in the West and have a stranglehold. Hoping for a home win in Chitown manana.

This picture shows all I need. This guy has wrecked 4 other players knees if I remeber correctly. The league needs to make him go away. I stilk believe he cut Karlson on purpose also. He is the biggest POS in the league.

SJ with the stranglehold on the series hopefully they dont choke

I can't be the only one in the room who was surprised by the Sharks. Well, 5 minutes into the first game, I was a believer, but damn. They are relentless.

Re: NHL '13-'14 Season Thread

I picked the Sharks to win the series in my playoff pool, I like their depth at forward and their speed. LA probably has better overall D and Quick is usually sharper than Niemi...but not in this series. I like the Sharks to beat the winner of the Ducks-Wild series as well.

And Folihgno puts it past Fleury, who has no idea where it went.
Starting to enjoy this series.

Flipping over to Chicago vs Blues. Getting dizzy channel hoping. Need a second TV!

Stars were flat out dominant in periods 2 an 3 last night. All tied up and the Ducks are on the ropes.

Loved seeing Bruce Boudreaux send out Fistric with a minute left to go after Garbutt, with no effect. Lindy Ruff is outcoaching the pants off of Bruce right now.

That was a great punch. The kid did miss a whole lot of the season with a hand infection after hitting Eric Brewer in the chops. Real temper young Evander has. (His father did name him after a boxer, so I guess that's Karma)

Now the best of 3 :sl

What a pitiful performance, after the O'Reilly goal I think they had 1 shot on goal in 20 minutes or so and lack luster defense, if it wasn't for Varly playing good I think it would have been 8 or more goals scored in the game :td

Hopefully they bounce back on Saturday :)

Still frustrated by the Avs effort/play last night. Nobody stepping up, well....Varlamov has played outstanding, everyone else ugh.... 12 shots on goal, 1 goal in 2 games in Minnesota.....they look lost.

On the bright side, maybe coming back to Pepsi will give them some jump and they have 2 of remaining 3 at home.....almost feels like I am grasping....

GO AVS!

Thankfully the Bruins were able to overcome their lack of a solid goalie last night. Rask looks right, looks right, puck goes behind the net, Rask looks right looks right, puck is on a stick to his left, Rask looks right, puck get's tapped softly into the wide open net to the left, Rask looks right, still can't find the puck. :r

I was getting frustrated with all the empty nets that were missed. That game easily could have been a 6-2 win. I've been watching hockey since 1979 and I don't know if I've ever seen a player as snake-bitten as Brad Marchand.
