Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Todays game...MLB best record Phillies vs my Mets...Niese vs Hamels...no Wright, Reyes, Davis, or Beltran. On paper looks like another Mets loss. My Mets turn the tables and WHOOP them Phils 11-2. Niese pitched a gem and Hairston has a career day (5 RBIs). Back to one game over .500. :tu :tu

Hey Keith...How ya like them apples? :D :D

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Even though it is only the 6th inning...I see Pelfrey is at it again. Down 4-0 and the oppsosing pitcher is 2-2 with the stick. :td :td

Can you say COMPLETE BUST???

Someone PLEASE trade him!!

"Them apples" are 12 games up on those apples, so I like it just fine! :D.....Nice win over Hamels....what do they say, "even a blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes"...:r

Mets looked horrible against the Marlins yesterday in a 4-1 loss. Dropped below .500... AGAIN!! :td :td

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Looks like Beltran is on the block for the right numbers. I thought he may have been passed over.

kelmac07 07-19-2011 07:48 PM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Reyes is back (another multi hit game), Gee looks good and the Mets win 4-2 against the Cardinals. :tu :tu

Dave128 07-20-2011 09:46 AM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

If Reyes and Beltran look so good, why does upper management want to trade them? Is saving a few bucks really more important than wins when these two (and Wright) are healthy?

kelmac07 07-21-2011 05:03 AM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Angel Pagan saves the day...hits a walk-off HR in the bottom of the 10th as we beat the Cards 6-5. Puts us a game over .500. :tu :tu

Tough loss today. Back to .500.

And the ball busting continues. :D

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Mets "hold on" to beat the Marlins 7-6 last night. Wright looked good for his first game back.

kelmac07 07-24-2011 08:27 AM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Mets drop one to the Marlins late again...winning 2-0 and can't hold on. And the bullpen had been looking alright. Reyes was 3-5, with 3 runs scored.

kelmac07 07-24-2011 02:21 PM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Bullpen reared it's ugly head again today and blew the lead as we lost 5-4 to the Marlins. Parnell gets a blown save and the loss. :td :td

kelmac07 07-24-2011 06:15 PM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Washington loses as well today...so we remain a game ahead of them and still in third place.

kelmac07 07-26-2011 05:35 AM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

The bullpen hangs on to one last night and the Mets beat the Reds 4-2, puts us back at .500. :tu :tu

kelmac07 07-27-2011 05:43 AM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Bullpen holds onto another one and the Mets beat the Reds 8-6. Another series win. :tu :tu

Splitting 2 of 4 isn't a series win! :ss
(Edit: I guess it's a win for Met fans) :r
Don't jump the gun, Beltran may not be around to help you get the next 2! :2
Pelfrey and Capuanno aren't exactly aces! :D

kelmac07 07-27-2011 05:52 AM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

With this team...2 of 4 IS a series win. :r :r

Who? Is this a baseball player?

Then again, it could be argued that Beltran wasn't one either, at least for the Mets. ;)

He is the Giants #2 prospect, 33rd best in baseball...but I still think the Mets got "hosed" on this deal. All we got was one unproven young pitcher? WTF was Sandy Alderson drinking? :bh :bh :bh

Although I am glad to finally see Beltran leave town...the Mets got boned again!! :td :td

As the 33rd best prospect in baseball, he is ranked higher than any prospect in the entire Met organization.

Not sure what you wanted for a 34yr old, often injured, 2 month rental player!

Nothing wrong with acquiring young arms, especially when Mike Pelfrey is your #1 starter!

Greedy! :D
You got rid of Beltran, I thought that would be enough for you!
With Mccann and Chipper hurt, Santana getting close, I thought the Mets may shift gears, become buyers, and make a run athe wild card.
Guess not! :noon

Wildcard? I don't think so... .500 is a more realistic goal. I am very happy Beltran is gone. Just wanted a bit more for him, since he was the "best" free agent on the market.

kelmac07 07-27-2011 07:51 PM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Mets put it on the Reds tonight 8-2...Pelfrey pitches a complete game (he still sucks). :D

Dave128 07-28-2011 08:38 AM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

It wasn't his best performance. Beltran is gone. I hope the door doesn't hit him in the a$$ on the way out. He's had a decent season so far. Figures. this may be bad to say, but I hope he gets hurt and can't finish the season. This move will give Wright the perfect opportunity to step up and be the true leader of the club house.

kelmac07 07-28-2011 08:42 AM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

I don't wish Beltran to get hurt (god knows he stayed hurt enough with us)...but he was, in my opinion, a first cass douchebag and mostly for the way he handled the Walter Reed Visit a few years ago. Good riddance. :D

I agree 100%, i was just thinkin the same thing when i read your post.
Beltran is batting .289 with 15 homers, 66 ribbies.
I thought he was finally living up to his potential.
Even after being out for how long, 6 or 8 weeks.
The Mets are done now, i guess the Madoff effect.

I am not by nature a Met hater.
I just thought with Wright back, letting K Rod go would be enough.
Now the Giants are back in front.
I do love the team in the BronX.

Mets win their 5th straight...beating the Nats 8-5. :tu :tu

kelmac07 07-30-2011 09:14 PM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Mets come back to reality and get shoutout 3-0 by the Nats.

kelmac07 07-31-2011 02:40 PM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Mets drop another one, 3-2, to the Nats, As quick as it came, the offense has disappeared.

kelmac07 08-01-2011 06:17 PM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

We get four games over .500...and we do everything in our power to give them away. Looks like we're gonna hold onto third place (by a hair) for one more day. Oh yeah...Pelfrey still sucks!!!

kelmac07 08-02-2011 05:24 AM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

Only my Mets could hit HRs two nights in a row to tie the game in the 9th...only to piss the game away. :td :td

kelmac07 08-02-2011 05:45 AM

Re: New York Mets 2011 Banter

On a brighter note...Beltran is 2-17 with 2 RBIs for the Giants. He was on a tear before he left. :D

Mets give another one away. Thanks a lot!! :td :td Back to .500 & tied for third place (soon to be fourth if we continue to play this way).
