Soria has been a decent closer, but yeah, the middle relief is garbage.

If you say so. Not being snide, just I don't follow the Tiggers well enough to know. Plus, after almost 2 decades of Mariano Rivera, my idea of "decent" is biased. :r

Some Sox hitting ranks:
Avg: 21st
Hits: 29th
2B: 24th
HR: 29th
W: 29th
SBs: 29th
Runs: 30th

Does that count as a $hit show?:noon:noon

Would still beat the **** out of the RedSox :r

Pirates turn a 4-5-4 triple play against the Cards last night, which is reported to be the first such in MLB history. Though the play hinged on a good leaping snag of a screaming liner by 2B Walker, it was greatly aided by the bone-headed SL runners on 2nd and 3rd who ran on contact . . . right with 2 out, dumb with one, and totally stupid with none.

Polanco did the newborn baby deer on an easy pop-up, or it would probably be in the 15th by now.

Well, I have been scared to come in here due to how the A's have been playing. Errors. 38 errors so far. Yesterday was game 38 for them.

Bullpen... Horrible.

The good news may be that it's only mid-May, Garry, lots of time to get on track.

Tigers going for the sweep on the Cards tonight, that would be sweet.

True for enough time to turn it around... But watching them, and them doing nothing to fix it yet.....

When will the slide stop.

Going for the sweep... Sh!t, I hope the A's can avoid a sweep from the White Sox this afternoon.

Think I caught a teaser about the Marlins having a bit of personnel shakeup today? Okay, been busy, what happened?

Fired their manager, now they have 3 managers on the payroll. Maybe Ozzie can come back and co-manage?

Has anybody read up on Barry Bonds filling a lawsuit against MLB for collusion? It'll be interesting to see how all this plays out.

Let's look at the Pirates. One of the hottest teams in the league right now. Cole is one of the best pitchers in the majors right now. Burnett has been good, just didn't get much offensive support early on.

Biggest surprise is Jung Ho Kang. Preseason talk was he should be assigned to AAA or even AA because Korean baseball wasn't on a par with the major leagues. All the talk show hosts are changing that tune now. He's contibuted quite a bit both offensively and defensively so far this season.

Re: 2015 MLB Thread

OK, this is kinda freaky. Remember back when Derek Jeter got his 3000th hit, by smacking a home run at Yankee Stadium? Well everybody's OTHER favorite Yankee, Alex Rodriguez, just smacked a HR there for HIS 3000th hit.

These are two of only three players (of the 29 in the 3000 club) who hit a dinger for their 3K mark. The other one was Wade Boggs . . . but sadly he did it after he took off the Pinstripes. :D

And he did it off the Tigers and Verlander, which makes it all the more sour for me. :r

Oof. Sorry, Chris Sale. Rangers come through with a 2 RBI single in the ninth with two outs and two strikes.
