Fister set a new AL record with 9 consecutive strike-outs. Still pitching to the 10th.

Yankees fans....

Rangers/A's day game has started off very well... 5-0 after the first. Rangers need to split the series. Magic number is still sitting at 5.

Tigers get the 4 game sweep vs the Royals, no thanks to J. Benoit.

Dickey strikes out 13 and gets win #20 as the Mets win 6-5 against the Pirates. He has officially put himself in contention for the NL Cy Young award. Tied for 1st in wins, 1st in strikeouts, and second in ERA. :tu

Although neither your Dodgers nor my Phillies are technically eliminated, I'd say now is a good time to give up on both teams. :td

This season is coming down to the wire!
Yanks, now, are the 1 seed, but could slide all the way down to a wild card.
Texas is only up by 1, with 2 left to play with Oakland.
They could end up a wildcard or the one seed.
In fact all 4 teams fighting could end up with the 1 seed or a wildcard berth!
Crazy when you think about it!
Tigers lock up the Central. I always thought they would win it, but it shouldn't have taken them this long.
Kudos to Ventura! I'm sure he gave ChiSox fans more than they were hoping for.
I doubt the end of this season will match the drama of last year's, but this is fun.
I need a way to see the Oakland Vs Texas game tonight.
I hope MLB Network or ESPN airs it.

Well the Dodgers have won 6 straight so I would say we are putting up a fight. Let's keep it going Blue!
A bit to late to be turning it up though.

I would actually really like to see the dodgers in the playoffs.

But, then, I hope the team craters for another year or so because I want them to unload Kershaw to Texas.

Hey, pipe dreams can be fun.

My respect for the A's was and is high. Best drafting/developing team in the league. Just think how good it would be for baseball if they ever were able to get out of Oakland. They probably scare me more than any other team in the AL right now.

That's more than I can say about my Phillies. I can't believe we didn't even finish .500 let alone make the playoffs. All that talent. Oh well, like C from the Bronx Tale said, "Nothing worse than wasted talent."

I'll always root for Donnie baseball! :tu

I spent nine innings Mutha Fcukin the Yanks.
I was furious at them!
With their fate in their hands, they could only muster one lowly run, against the hapless Red Sox.
After they tied it in the ninth, I was still furious that they didn't win it right there.
They had bases loaded, one out, with Tex and Cano coming up, and neither one of those jabronies could get the run home.
By the time they finally won it in the 12th, I was spent.
I wish I had the energy to watch the Oakland game!

Game is at 12... Damn work.. I really want to watch this one too.

Same here, just to help the A's win. If this game wasn't for the division, I would like him to hit a few just so he would pass Cabrera for it.

Not a fan of Cabrera at all....

A's were the last team I was hoping the Tigers would play in the first round, they are about the only A.L. team hotter than the Tigers the last couple weeks. Hoping that our starters can go deep, and the bats stay alive. Should be a great series.

Watched what may have been Lance Berkmans last at bat last night. Pretty touching as he should still be on the DL but limped out to the batters box and all the way to 1st after hitting into a ground out. The fans were cheering the whole time while the ump stood back to update his book to give Berkman time for the moment.

I really want to congratulate Miggy Cabrera for what seemed like such an unrealistic feat. I am not old enough to remember the last one (thank god for that, ayy :) ) but i remember seeing people come somewhat close and whiff out as the year got stronger.. Well Miggy got stronger as the season got longer and tougher!..

Pretty good games last night, despite the debacle in the ATL.
I had liked the O's, but never thought the Cards would beat the Braves.
In fact, I had the Braves going all the way to the series.
Looks like I'm gonna have to find another NL team to root for.

The 2 division series get under way today, with the higher ranked teams opening on the road.
Anyone have any thoughts about the teams starting on the road?
I personally don't think it's a big deal.
Unless the Yanks open 0-2, then I'll be screaming about it! ;) :r
