Two nights in a row!!!! If I had work tomorrow I'd leave early!! You should have taken the bet Mac!!!

kelmac07 06-14-2012 05:06 AM

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

Dickey goes to 10-1 in throwing a one hitter. Mets win 9-1. 20 runs in two games??? WOW!!! If I had taken the bet, we would have lost both games by 20. :r :r

And tied for second place...but the Nats keep winning. :bh :bh

As far as I'm concerned, I seen the Mets 2nd no hitter. That was an error on Wright in first inning.

I agree..but now were even. The ball Beltran hit was clearly fair and called foul. :D

Nice outing by Dickey! He's been our savior so far this season. The entire team seems to play well when he's on the mound.

Mets Sweep the Rays!! 29 runs in three games. Not too shabby.

Yeah, and not too shabby how you helped out my Yanks, both in this series and your previous one, up in The Bronx. Thanks. :tu

And you're welcome for our help with the Braves. We'll see if we can give you some more with the Nats starting tomorrow.

Love the sweep of the Rays. Can't say I saw that coming. 29 runs??? The offense woke the hell up in this series.

Now for the whole Mets appealing the call in Dickeys game the other night?? :td :td

I figure the Mets blew their load down in Tampa.
It wouldn't surprise me if they get shut out the next 10 games. ;)

Heading to the game tonight. 1 day earlier and I could have seen the free REO Speedwagon post game concert.

Oh and Jason Bay runs into yet another wall and hurts himself. Sure glad we are getting our $ 70 million worth out of him. :td :td

That's just not right. To clarify, the Yanks sweep of Mets NL rival teams has been a welcome relief to the Mets inability to win recent games.

Yeah, my boys have been doing their part to try and help you out (save maybe for blowing a couple of those last games in The Bronx to you :D ), but if you don't help yourself a little there is little more we can accomplish for you.

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

R.A. Dickey beat the pants off Baltimore 5-0 (the grand slam by Davis helped a bit, too)! He's now 11-1.

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

RA Dickey's having a great year. Seems to be a good man and he's easy to root for.

yachties23 06-18-2012 07:53 PM

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

RA Dickey is literally unhittable right now. I have never seen entire lineups look so lost against a guy as I have his last 3 starts.

Dickey is the shiz right now.

Dickey pitched another great game last night. :tu :tu

I agree about Dickey, and wondered about the decision to juggle the pitching line against my Yanks. OK, I know the excuse was to give Santana a few extra days's rest after his no-no. But the Yankees are historically bad against junk-ballers, and I felt Dickey was a much greater challenge for them than Johan.

Guess we might find out for sure this weekend, with him pencilled in to oppose C.C.

Thing about Dickey - I wouldn't change the rotation at all around him. He needs to pitch basically every 6th day.

He really isn't a junk baller. I wish love when we throw him in the opener of a series, basically seems to screw a lineup up for days.

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

Chris, you'd know better than me about Dickey. But he'd be the first knuckler I've ever heard of who truly needed a 6-day rest. Most of them say they can pitch 3 days in a row, if needed. :r

I didn't mean he needed rest Tom. I think the Mets want to keep him on his regular day. Remember when the Yankees always made sure Mussina pitched on his normal day, I think that is what the Mets have in mind for Dickey.

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

Dickey throws his knuckleball a lot faster than any other previous knuckleballers. Topping out at 85 MPH with crazy movement...puzzling hitters, as well as Thole. :D

kelmac07 06-20-2012 05:46 AM

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

Mets beat the O's 5-0...another shutout. 2nd place all by ourselves and we finally gained a game on the Nats. :wo :wo

I may be a little late, but was anyone sad to see Bay bang his head? I feel bad for him, but glad he's not in the lineup anymore

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

I'm pretty disappointed. Bay plays his heart out. He gets a bad rap as a Met because he's been on the DL so much.

I always loved Bob Uecker's line:

It's easy to catch a knuckleball . . . you just wait 'til it stops rolling, then pick it up.

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

That was a close one. Mets win 4-3 after Gee had a 1 hitter through most of the game.

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

Sweeeeeeep!! :wo :wo

Mets tried to give it away in the bottom of the ninth.

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

Let's see, Mets get :
Swept by the Yanks
Sweep the Rays
Swept by the Reds
Sweep the O's
And now they have 3 coming up against the Yanks again.

Anyone else see a pattern here? :D

I'm looking forward to Sunday nights pitching matchup...Dicky vs Sabathia.

Just FYI, here about 35 miles upweather of Citi Field, the sky's a nasty stormy green, with lightning heading from Pennsyltucky-way. Don't be shocked at a rain-delay, since a shock's not nearly as bad as a lighning strike up aside the head.

Now, not 10 minutes later, it's rainin' like a summabich, a real frog-strangler.

Won't be a sweep in this series..at least not by the Evil Empire. Mets beat the Yankees last night 6-4. Cluck you!! :r :r

Mets piss away a 3-0 lead and lose to the Yankees tonight 4-3. :bh :bh

Mets drop last nights game, and the series, to the Yankees 6-5. I'm proud of the way they fought back after being down 5-1 though. Damn bullpen blows another one. Why in the hell would Collins leave Batista in for two innings??? :bh :bh

I didn't get it either!
If you get a scoreless inning out of Batista in a tie game, you can't tempt fate, you have to get him out of there.
I know the pen was in disarray with Francisco out, but doesn't Collins remember The last time he faced Cano?
I'm not sure that ball from Friday has landed yet! :r

At least it wasn't a sweep......

Re: New York Mets 2012 Banter

We pissed away a lead in game one...tried to give game two away and had a chance in game three.
