Look on the bright side, Mets fans - you don't seem to be heading to a third straight September collapse. :D |
Re: *2009 MLB Thread*
Sox made some moves. LaRoche from Pittsburgh and Duncan from St Louis. Shoring up the bench I guess, neither strikes me as much of an impact player.

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*
The Red Sox getting rid of Lugo was a great move.

As much as I despise the Yankees...they are playing some great ball, along with Atlanta and Philly.

Congrats to Mark Buehrle on his perfect game. Wise made an incredible catch in the 9th to keep it intact.

My Mets were off today...WOO HOO!!! Can't lose a game that isn't played!!!!

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*
What are the Mets going to do? They need something to give them a reason to show up to the ballpark.

There you two go again...beating a man when he's on the ground. They had better stay ahead of the Nats!!!

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*
Hopefully the Mets can hang in there and watch the Phillies have a September collapse.
|
Re: *2009 MLB Thread*
To be fair to kelmac, the Mets are doing about what you'd expect with all the injuries they've had. Hang in there, Michael. :tu

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*
The Mets forcast just got a little worse. The Phillies and Blue Jays are getting close to a deal for Doc.

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*
What do you know...the Mets won!! We beat the red-hot Astros..but still 10.5 games out (because the Phillies keep winning). Might be too little, too late.

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*
Sox dealt Kotsay to the White Sox for Brian Anderson. Don't know why they would want that whiner lol.

Re: *2009 MLB Thread*
Gigantes played well last night, we still have a good shot at the wild card.
Tim pitched his ass off last night, let's hope Zito does not blow it. |

Kotsay would have been outright released, the Sox would be happy to get anything they could.

MINNEAPOLIS -- Chicago White Sox ace Mark Buehrle has set a major league record by retiring 45 straight batters.
Coming off a perfect game in his last start against Tampa Bay, Buehrle retired the first 17 Minnesota Twins batters to surpass the record of 41 straight set by and San Francisco's Jim Barr in 1972 and tied by teammate Bobby Jenks, a reliever, in 2007. |
