My parents had a wall mounted one of these until the phone company switched from pulse to tone and the phone didn't work well anymore. That was around 1995. I got to be pretty quick with dialing that thing!

I still have one of these -- it's in my garage (connected) and still works fine although the phone company keeps warning me that it could stop working at any time...

In my first grade class, we had to stand and give our phone number. At the time mine was HU2-0377 or you could say it as Hudson2-0377.

Our exchange was Dickens (DI) -- Dickens3 6614.

Awesome! I had both the gun and the bomb! The best was pounding an entire roll of caps with a rock or hammer. That made one heck of a boom!

The funny thing is that the rolls of paper caps as they were back then would probably not be allowed as toy today... Yet we all survived just fine.

I used to shoot mine in the driveway. It created a nice echo effect, much to the dismay of the poor neighbor across the street.

I learned the hard way never ever set it off inside the house. I remember dad's belt was formally introduced to my a$$ that day.
