That looks really good. And I'm sure it has nothing to do with the fact that I'm starving right now, either. :D

Love a good Cuban sandwich!! Be careful some are called a Cuban sandwich but are not even close to the real deal.

I love Cuban sandwiches (and Cuban coffee too). I lived in Miami for a few years and grew to love them. When I moved back up north I missed them, but recently found a sandwich place near me that makes a GREAT one.

Funny thing is, those are really hard to find in Cuba!

Definitely my favorite sandwich. Very hard to make a good one though, the meat, cheese, mustard, pickle, bread all have to be just right. And I'm picky :)

Now that's something we can agree on. Found a little Cuban place in south beach a couple of streets in from the waterfront drag by accident (wandering around looking for coffee when hung over).

Cuban coffee and a Cuban sandwich for breakfast. Man oh man did that ever hit the spot.

OK .. it was a late, late breakfast.

Kind like lunch.

OK it was a late lunch.

I did mention I was hung over ... LOL.

Little Cuban dive with a walk up window on the street (original one on collins).

You won't leave disappointed. Well ... if you came in sober maybe ... but as long as you wander in hung over, you should be gold.

I just ate pork for dinner and now I am hungry again.

Only one place in Boston (Chez Henri in Camb) makes something to talk about. One day, I will have one in Havana!

The place I go is The Real Deal. There's one in JP and one in W. Roxbury.

The best I've had was in Key West at Jose's Cantina. Cheese Burger In Paradise (Jimmy Buffett/Outback Steakhouse) makes a good one also.

Having been born and raised in South Miami I have had many Cuban sandwiches
and they all rock, but the best I have had in recent years is served at The Star Liner Diner here in Hillard Ohio.

My favorite one in this area comes from La Ideal on Tampa Bay Blvd. I think theirs is the best around.
Plenty of good ones to found though, for sure.

You all are making me homesick. We always went to the shop out on Buffalo (MLKj) past 56st street, Man, those were the best. But La Ideal was great also.

A cuban bread vendor once told me that the secret was using lard as the shortening.

That would be Brocato's on Broadway.
