I was just looking at some pics of humi's in another thread and some of you have what looks like well in excess of 1000 sticks. My question for these folks is, what do you think the avg age of the cigars are when you smoke 'em?
I noticed many of you have boxes of the same smoke as well as mulitple assortments. Either you like 'em aged or your all hoarders!

6-8 years old on average is what I dominately smoke.

That being said, nothing is off limits.

I should keep better records then I do so I understand this better, but sometime I dig deep and find a cigar that tastes way better then I remember (good aging) and sometime I pull out one that I had fond memories of that is no longer great (maybe bad aging). Could also be taste change. Eitherway, I like to stick to a 3 months minimum in the humidor rule... but hey, if you love em fresh or 20 years old, go nuts.

Those must be sweeeeeeeeeettttt. My uncle says he has some CC's that are 15 yrs old in his humi. Next time I am in Philly I have to rob his house.

Most of mine have at least a year on them.

It all depends for me. I have some smokes that have been resting for three years, and some that have been resting for 8 years. I also have some smokes that I prefer fresh and start smoking them within a few months of purchasing. I don't really care how old my sticks are, I just smoke whatever I am in the mood for.

As I have only been at this a couple of months that is about the age on my sticks. I do have a few I have bought from BOTLs that are a bit older. I look forward to the day I can smoke a stick that has been in there even a year!!

On a positive note... I started a database from the get go with the name of the stick, size, cost, date I put it in the humidor, and a comment field. As I smoke a stick (not every one but most) I write a short comment along with the date I am smoking it. I enjoy doing it and I think it will be a great reference in the future.

The trick is to have older sticks to smoke now, whilst your new orders age. Of course, the downside is you have to keep buying cigars to keep the cycle going. At least, that's what I tell my girlfriend. :D

Both lol... I do like them aged (minimum 6 months), but I have a problem. Maybe I can get into cigars anonymous lol... I just can't stop buying to the tune of at least 25 cigars a month lol...

But hey at Least I will have some nice aged stuff one day! :ss
