Hey all I just picked up my new Bodum French Press 8 cup with the 2pc bodum insulated cups. I just made the first pot and must say, "why did I wait so long to get one of these!?!?!?!?!" I have been wanting to get one of these for the longest time but never had gotten around to it. Needless to say I am happy with the purchase.

just figured that I would let you guys know
:ss

After about 4 years, mine finally got a chip in the glass. Looks like I need to replace mine.

Stop at one of those stone chip repair places on the side of the road, have them fix it and bill your car insurance.

Hmmmm...might have to compare that cost vs a new press.

Have you got a Bodum cafetiere? if so, you can usually buy replacement glass.

Love the press when espresso and moka go quiet. Consider a press from the Bodum/Columbia line of stainless insulated presses if you can't find a replacement beaker. They are spectacular, come in many sizes, and will not chip. Dent, maybe - but never chip.

I have a barista thermal press and it's a tank. I'm not sure how much they cost compared to the glass presses since I didn't buy it myself, but I would buy another if I had to.

I got my first prench press for the holidays and I love it. I got tired of paying for them at Casa Fuente. the brand of coffee they serve there is available here at Whole Food, but I am working my way through some Starbucks. Mayhaps a review is in my future.
