I'm pretty durn confident that this picture, which I found stumbling around facebook, isn't plume at all. Looks a whole heck of a lot like mold, and a lot of it...

And I agree...

There's so much information out there, and the whole 'Plume' controversy is the worst of it.

P.S. Cuban Cigars are illegal because they have weed in them.

Those poor poor diamond crowns. I wonder if mold likes Diamond Crowns more than it likes Cremosas. You never hear of Cremosas with mold on them.

Now I know where they get the Joke "I am a doctor. Smoke two cigars and call me in the morning." With all that mold it would equal 12 million units of penicillin.

Reminds me of the time I was at a bar in Portugal and the owner pulled out a box (half full) of Monte #4's. Well let me tell you these pics you provided are pretty clean compared to those.

I just threw up in my mouth a little. How sad and the even worse fact is that those are not the first DCMs I have seen covered with mold like that.:sad

01-19-2009, 07:45 PM
Wow what a waste of DCMs :(

I too have heard the plume argument from a B&M.... he didn't call it that, but that's what he was trying to describe to me when I commented on the faint, furry layer of MOLD that I was looking at. I tried my best to be diplomatic about it.

Cello'd B&M cigars FTW.

Cyanide

While most of it does appear to be mold, I do believe there is one distinct area on the cap of the second cigar that is likely to be plume.

Further, it would seem that the label of the first cigar (foreground cigar) also has some faint plume. All in all, I believe this is quite incredible to see plume on a label, especially in the setting of remainder of myco-plume.

Cheers
