I am new to all this so bare with me. I keep hearing about anejos, does anyone know of any online retailers that sell them?
I could just go to Casa Fuente and get some but they are REALLY expensive there. and are Sharks Anejos too?

You probably just missed most of them. Although keep your eyespeeled as guys seem to sell these off through the year. Cheers!

Your best bet would be to watch the WST thread. There are a lot of well established inmates that clean out their humi's and sell anejos and other stuff for MSRP or around. Don't buy anejos online...they're way too expensive. Good luck!

Yes the Sharks are, and are #77's

Bought 5 Sharks. $17 a pop. Happy Ho-Ho Day to me. Apparently, my palate is so unrefined still, I didn't see what the big deal is with em. It was good but IMPO, I could buy 2 $10 sticks and be just as happy. Or for that matter, spend a little more and get 4 Patel Edge Toro Corojos.

But, as we all will agree, everyone's tastes are different.

That wasn't very clear. What I meant was, for $85 I could have bought many more cigars I really enjoy than just 5 Sharks.

That will teach me to post when I'm trying to concentrate on work.

Anejos, along with other "rare" Fuentes are only released once a year around the holidays. They tend to sell out very quickly which is why you don't see them at online retailers. I'm still undecided on these. I've got a couple resting. The one I've had was very wet and burned poorly. Based on that experience, I wasn't impressed. I do hear that they get better with a little age.

They do improve with age, especially the 77. These are about gone where I live, but I was able to pick up around 40 this time around.

One of my favorite Fuentes! They definitely get better with age. I like to keep some older stock around just to age a bit and I have a box of 46s from '06 that I am patiently letting rest. All of the '06s and '07s that I have smoked are awesome. Haven't tried the '08s yet.

As many have said, check out the WTS sections frequently and you should be able to grab some at a decent price since most people here don't gouge like some of the retailers tend to do. :usa

They usually do... but the last few years they haven't made it out on Fathers day. So you could only get them around Nov-Dec the last couple of years...

Not sure why the change, but there seems to still be enough around so the prices don't get too crazy high. I have noticed the prices from second party sales seems to be cheaper this year by $1-2 a stick...

They only have the 46s and 48s left... I believe they are out of the rest already. It doesn't hurt to call and ask Darlene. :tu

There are some online retailers (smaller ones) that have them, but they aren't cheap. For instance:

CigarsDirect.com

Cigar Hut
https://www.cigarsforless.com/advanced_search_result.php?search_in_description=1&keywords=anejo

Good luck.

I can pick up 50's, 49's or 46's tonight where I am for work. PM me if you want. They are roughly $2-$3 over MSRP.

Awesome and please do post a review... its always nice to hear what others think. Did you manage to get some different sizes of the anejos to compare to each other?

I have to agree with you, I don't see what is so great about the Anejo's. The first shark I smoked was great, and after that every Anejo was just disapointing. After smoking a dozen of them, including more sharks, I sold waht I had left and moved on to cheaper smokes that I like better. I guess that is why they make so many differnt kinds of cigars.
