I always like to keep the bands to cigars that I've had for the first time. I've got an overfilling matchbox right now and I'm going to have to store them somewhere else now.

Does anyone else do the same or am I just insane?

I have a large bag full of them and still keep many, especially stuff I smoke for the first time

:hm
How do you get the bands to cigars you haven't had? Do you go to the B&M, pull off the bands, and walk out?

I keep bands to some cigars that I smoke. Depends on if I like it or not.

:r That would be pretty funny if I did do that, but I meant when I smoke a cigar for the first time I like to keep the band.

I paste all the bands of cigars I've smoked into a scrapbook. Eventually I'll leave out duplicates, but for now it's every stogie I smoke.

I have the band from every banded Cuban cigar I've ever smoked. Have them in a glass display jar.

Gave all the NCs to someone who was crafting a project.

I usually keep my bands. I donated a handful to my local shoppe. They had a guy make a 3 string cigar box guitar and it was finished off with cigar bands covering the surface.

I save mine for when I build a few pieces of furniture.

I never saved them until about 6 months ago. I started filling up a jar with them. Now I wish I had saved them the whole time. It's cool to just look back at the cigars you've smoked.

I keep them, I don't know why, I have no plans or schemes, I just keep them in my desk drawer...it's like a sickness

I save 99% of them. Since I've purchased a few boxes recently I have been throwing out bands that I have a lot of. Never throw away a first timer though.

I have a gallon jug approaching half full. I'm also collect my beer bottle caps.
The bottle caps go around the brim of my beach hat during the summer

Have one fairly good sized pistachio jar full and a pretzel jar from Sam's club about 3/4 of the way full.

I would say I have 90% of the bands since 1997 when I started smoking.

I keep mine is a display jar for decoration. I think they look cool

I have seen a bar top that they pasted all the different cigar bands to and then put a clear coat over the top.

:tpd:

I also keep mine in a glass jar. I'm not sure if I'll ever do anything with them, but they look good as is.

I keep mine in an old cigar box for now. No idea what I will do with them.

Numerous cigar boxes full of every one. The little artsy lady I live with may do something with them someday, but she still frowns on the lengths I go to collect them. :)

On a total random whim about a week ago, I just started keeping mine. Not sure what I plan on doing with them but I'm keeping them.

I save them for some reason, not sure why

They are all over the place in jars, boxes, drawers, floor of the work truck :D

I fill up empty pipe tobacco tins with my first time bands only.

If any one needs those bands which I throw away regularly for a project, then PM me and I will save and send them. At my rate of smoking, they would pile up quite quickly.

I'm trying to resist the urge to save them. I don't have any real use for them and I know they will end up just taking space. At this point in my life, I've realized I've hung on to so many things for so long, just in case I may use them some day, and end up throwing the stuff out in the end anyway.
I try to keep a journal of the ones I really like.

I keep my bands in an empty cigar box, while the bands to my favorite cigars get pasted on a wooden box that holds my pocket knives.

I keep them, and probably will forever as I just love the way they look. I've been keeping everything with a band in a metal topped Ikea-esque jar. It's a small collection so far, but they range from a (lone) Dutch Master and Consuegra bands sitting next to Hemmingway and Montecristo bands. :D

Here a couple things I do with them!

In a large glass display in the lounge. Can be seen far right bottom

And they eventually turn into projects like this.

I save 'em because I want to make a framed collage with it, to decorate one of the walls of my toilet. I already did that with all my football tickets.

As of right now, I'm keeping every band to every cigar I smoke in hopes of one day becoming inspired enough to create something with them.

I've got a couple of boxes filled with bands right now, and am waiting to accumulate quite a few more boxes of empty bands. I have a plan in mind to build an "end table" humidor for my game room and cover the sides/top with the bands.

I keep all of mine. The Non Cuban ones are MUCH easier to come apart. I would have double the amount of Cuban labels if that glue wasn't so pesky. There are wide variety of craft options to do with them. I have made floating frames and an ashtray.

Here is the ashtray I did:

I keep mine also. I have a big bag full of them and plan on building a collage in a picture frame one of these days. Just lacking the spare time to pull it off. Once I get my office painted though, I think I will be more motivated to make the time. I just have to make the time to paint the office first.:r
