Report: Zimmer recovering from stroke

Tampa Bay Rays senior adviser Don Zimmer is recovering from a small stroke suffered last month, the St. Petersburg Times reported.

Zimmer, who turns 78 today, hopes to join the Rays for spring training. He is working to regain the speech and mobility he lost, Zimmer told the Times.

"I never felt bad," he told the Times. "I never had anything bother me except that I'm a little wobbly and I'm slow taking a step. A week and a half ago, there's no way I could talk to you.

''But I'm getting better."

At a family gathering on Dec. 23, several relatives noticed Zimmer was not his usual self.

"They could see something was wrong," he told the Times. "I wasn't talking right. I was very quiet, and that's not me. Everyone noticed it."

Zimmer said an MRI confirmed he "had a small stroke."

Even ignoring the above picture, recent pictures that I have seen of Jenna Jameson have her looking awfully rough for only being 35 and I am aware that she supposedly began her career before she was legal. She looks like 35 miles of rough road.

APRIL 12

This would have been my dad's 84th birthday. My father, Jim, died back in 1992 at the age of 67. He loved the Spring and watching the Master's Tournament. Just found myself missing him quite a bit today.
