Moses, does Colheita have to be drank immediately after opening (3 days or less)? or is it like most other Ports and can be enjoyed months afterward? Not that opened Ports last a week in my house, just curious, thanks!
I wouldn't say months, but a month for sure. They will last as long as any tawny once open. The wood aging oxidizes the wine to provide more stability once open.
Another thing worth trying is white port. Mix 1/2 white port with 1/2 tonic into a high ball glass with ice and garnish with either fresh mint or basil leaf. Great drink to start a night off with friends or alone! :tu

Been drinking a lot of Jos Carr Josh cabs over the past year+. For $10/bottle, you can't go wrong with it as an every day table wine.

Wines from the Rhone region can be a good value. CdP is usually mostly Grenache grape, but is blended.
For good cheap daily drinker, try St James Basket Press http://www.thewinebowgroup.com/our-brands/chateau-de-saint-cosme/little-james-basket-press-rouge/
Excellent crowd pleasing wine for like $10 and unique in that it is made from a blend of different vintages in a solera system like Sherry wine. Bottles age fine with screw cap. Had one that was like 5 years old and was equally as fun.

Heyyyyyyyyy folks.
So growing up, I always thought wine was that stuff in a big jug for $5.99. Wasn't a fan. But I moved to the middle of Wine Country, CA about 3 yrs ago, and after going tasting with friends a few times, I now appreciate wine.
Drinking a Syrah from Lodi, CA right now. Wine club price is $12 and this s#it is so good, I'm gonna enter it into a blind taste test with some wine snobs I'm hanging out with later this month.

Gotta admit I bought this partly cause the label is sofa king cool. But at ~25% off a bottle, at $17, it was worth the investment. It also has a very good rating on the Vivino app. Have to agree, it was delicious with my NY strip steak.

Where do you all get your wines?
I get mine mostly from wineries in the Carneros, Paso Robles, Santa Ynez, and Santa Cruz Mountains of California. Just because I get enough good wines from my tasting visits to keep my cellar full.
We also subscribe to the Naked Wines Club, which is hit or miss sometimes but well worth it. We get to try wines from everywhere and some are on the "keep buying" list.
There are some very good port wines there too.
There are some good wines in the Gold Country here as well. We are going camping up there this coming week and are sure to bring some back. If I survive the dirt bike riding. F'n 40s year olds like to kick my ass.

Where do you all get your wines?
First is the clearance bins at wine stores. Those are the best deals to be found. Torn label for discount? Yes please.
I frequent two local B&M's and sign up for their email first/only deals. They can sell a pallet of wine in a hour if priced right. I am one of those buyers.
Wine auctions. They're not what they use to be, but there are still deals to be had. Need to be one step ahead of wine trends so you are bidding on wines that aren't as competitive. Fair amount of research on price and quality needs to be considered. Many pay more in auction than just buying it at the store.
Online vendors. Handful of vendors I buy wine from and either ship right away or hold for cooler months to ship.
Private party. "I know a guy, who knows a guy who has some wine..." I am all ears and can keep my mouth shut on the details...
