No they consider Listerine a "gen 2" mouthwash...this one is supposed to be a "gen 3" mouthwash.

Since we're talking about mouthwash.... does anyone have any experience in comparing using alcohol-based mouthwash, versus non-alcohol, versus peroxide-based mouthwashes?

I'm just thinking now, and wondering if dying hydrogen peroxide molecules can kill germs, could it neutralize smelly chemicals too... kind of like an ozonator in your mouth! :r

I've read that urine kills athalete's foot because of it's anti-viral, anti-bacterial properties. Now I can stop fooling myself into thinking it does the same thing for other parts of the body. Thank you Smart Mouth.

picked some up last night at CVS after reading the OP. Used it last night after smoking a Tat Verocru#9. Started smoking around 930 so I didnt have anything to eat afterwards.

You use 4 pumps from each of the two bottles provided and swish for 30-60 seconds. I expected the flavor to be really harsh, or unplesant... it kinda reminded me of the flouride they used to give us in school, slightly minty. Almost like watered-down scope. No burning like listerine, so even 60 seconds is more than doable.

Woke up this morning and I didnt have that ususal nasty morning cigar breath. Asked the wife, she said my breath didnt smell like cigars.

They say that that using this twice a day for two weeks will maximize effects.

The side-effects may be at first: sligtly dry mouth, and a slight lost of taste... but both of these are only right at first.

so, been using Smart Mouth for a couple days now... It seems to be doing its job. Used it last night a few minutes after smoking a NC San Cristobal (tried it WITHOUT brushing first this time) and did a whiff test with the wife... NO cigar breath!!! She was very impressed.

Used it again this morning... my first cup of coffee tasted like ass... had to get the taste of the MouthSmart out first with a bite of a muffin.

Question is, if you smoke, use it, how is your breath 30 minutes and an hour after? Sometimes the mouth washes will remove the smell for the short term but not long term.

Tried it last night. I think that a 4-cigar smoking session largely overpowered any beneficial breath effects, but now, this morning, after having used it twice, I can see a marked improvement in my "morning-after" breath. That said, the astringent feeling while swiching this stuff is quite uncomfortable. Not as bad as the super-alcohol burn of Listerine, but bad in a different way.

:hm suprising you would say that as I found this to be rather plesant.

the only drawbacks I see from this product are the cost, and the fact that the first thing you drink in the morning (espically coffee) tastes like ass.

I am very pleased with this product and now that I know walgreens has it for cheaper I will more than likely continue to use it.

Anything containing chlorophyll should help. I always like Chlorets. But, some parsley should do the job. Hydrate, brush your teeth, use Crest non alcohol pro rinse, tongue scrapper, then eating something loaded with chlorophyll...like parsley. That really should do the trick.

I've picked some up a week ago, and also started using it with positive results. My wife says that my mouth no longer stinks so I think it's a great product. My local Rite Aid has it in stock too, and it's a 2 minute walk away so I'll be well supplied. It is a bit pricey for so less of a product but the quality really is top notch for a mouth wash.

No coffee issues, I drink work coffee and it already taste like ass.

Actually I use it at night after I smoke...in the morning I have been sticking with my Listerine. I did use it once in the morning and noticed that the first couple sips of coffee tasted strange...but I am usually half asleep so I guess its okay.

Picked up some from Kmart the other night for 16.00 bucks :gary. I suppose everything is a little more expensive here.

All I can say is that this stuff is legit. Works better than listerine, and leaves your breath smelling neutral. I dont know if its worth the price or not, but my wife seems to think so. I did wake up with a cigar taste in my mouth, but it wasnt nearly as bad.

I use lime juice, floss, tongue scrape, brush, then Smart Mouth. NOT A TRACE after that. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the taste of a good cigar, but only for a little while. Nothing worse than knocking someone over after a 5 cigar marathon, and the above ritual is very effective.
