I wanted to take my cat to the vet for a standard checkup, and to clear up an eye infection. When it comes time for me to get the cats perscription. The nurse asks me what the cats name is. I tell her "Lucy", she asks me if the cat goes by anything else, or family name? (WTF?)

I give the nurse the fisheye and say the following.

"Well, since you asked, her official name is:"

"Lucielle Chamelle Beatrice Clarise Buttlicke the Third. Defender of the White Couch in the living room, ruler of the feline horde and master of the realm of Concord Street between the front porch and the blue car halfway down the street. Slayer of the four legged vermin and Black terror of any dogs smaller then she is."

"I give the nurse this insane little smirk and add, "Her Majesty answers to just plain "Lucy" We also call her "Goddamn cat" when we throws up on the carpet, mostly behind her back.. Any other questions?"

I don't get it.

I have a small zoo of animals - when it comes to their shots, I get reminders (postcards) sent to the house for them to update their shots.

And the family name is for the office records - how many cats do you think they have on record named "Lucy"??? (Lucy Smith, Lucy Jones, Lucy Jackson, etc...)

I'm guessing you only have ONE cat.......:r

Yeah, thats right. The nurse asked for the family name.

I should have insisted that they fit the whole cats name on the pill bottle, 'd teach em for asking.

I have been to the vets too many times and they ask us the same thing,,not sure they have many cats with the names of Clifford and Spazalina! the short version is Cliff and Spaz,,,
