I have spent quite a few hours searching through all of the craigslist posts in Raleigh and the surrounding areas for different items and decided today to look for a way to simplify and streamline the process. Here's what I found:

I was generally searching just "humidor" in Raleigh, Charlotte, Greensboro, Eastern NC, Richmond VA, etc. not looking for something specific, but watching to see if any good deals popped up. I also read a lot of blogs and have a neat little program on my desktop that tells me when someone updates a blog I read. LETS PUT THESE TWO GREAT THINGS TOGETHER! Heres what to do:

Go to http://www.craigshelper.com

Enter whatever search term you would like ("humidor" for example) and the radius you would like to search. I put in 200 miles from Chapel Hill, NC.

When you press "search", little boxes will show up for every city in your area with the search results - pretty handy, huh? But wait...

Find where it says "Get RSS Feeds for this search" on the middle right side and click.

On the next page, click "Get RSS Feeds!" and download the corresponding OPML file to your desktop.

Import the file into your favorite RSS feed reader (Shrook is my favorite for Mac, but you can even just use the rss feed feature in Firefox or on Vista if you want) and VIOLA! Any time someone posts something about a humidor in your selected radius, you will be notified!

Hope this is helpful!

just what the Doctor ordered. I have been manually trying to do this, then thought I might try to come up with something. But this is just flat sweet and much more than I could have thought of...
