Very nice!

Trying to convince the wife to letting me get a portable one.

Really like the idea of this product, and wish I could afford one.

WOW! My neighbor complains about my A/C -- she'd sh*t a brick if she saw me installing something like that.

Something to ponder.

It’s supposed to be quieter than the A/C by 5 dB — and it likely won’t be on as much

Wow. I didn't know your CRAP needed uninterrupted power.

Oh, you said CPAP.

Carry on.

Damn Michael!! That is what I need, sadly it will just be a portable one for me .

It's supposed to be quieter than our A/C (which is 70 dB); they say that the generator is 60 dB. Still loud, but I can deal with it.

The other benefit of the generator is that the A/C used to sit outside our bedroom window. It had to be moved in order to put the generator in, and I did not realize how loud it was until it was moved!

What’s the maintenance like on that?

Good question -- since they won't be finished with the installation until Tuesday, I have not yet been given the grand tour.

It's a diesel engine, so I suspect that there is a periodic oil change, etc. The generator will be set up to do an auto-run once a week for about 10 minutes; that should keep the fuel stirred up enough so it won't require any additives.

I'll let you know more as soon as I find out.

It looks like it should ask "Would you like to play a game?" :D

Glad it's finally in!

Thanks Michael!

After the recent quakes down south, We agreed to get a portable, propane, generator. Dang CARB compliant crap is making the inexpensive options about an extra $100 a pop.

Looking from the online manual, I'll need to run it about once a month to keep the bugs out.

My generator is set to auto-run every week for about 10 minutes — makes sure everything is working OK and stirs the diesel up. Every six months the engine needs an oil change.

The diesel is able to run 24/7 during an outage and only needs to be shut down for refueling — although this is a soft requirement as the tank is not pressurized.

One thing I noticed, is that it’s not as quiet as the specs stated. It’s about 80 dB rather than 65... But, I’d rather the noise and power than no power
