Noob ? about posting pics

What is the best way to post pics so they consistently show up in the thread and not as a thumbnail or have them eventually turn into a black X.
I usually use google pics and just copy the link but for some reason they only show for a day or 2 in the thread then disappear.

I've been using Postimages dot org, haven't had any issues in the past few months since switching to them :tu

Flickr works for me.

The above posts are two of the recent accepted practices. A few, including myself, have played with Google Photos and it works well. For my purposes, photoimage was the easiest approximation to Photobucket so it’s my present choice.

I use Imgur and have been good with it.
