Walker, who also starred in such films as Send Me No Flowers (1964), None But the Brave (1965) and the World War II classic The Dirty Dozen (1967), died Monday from congestive heart failure, Walker's daughter Valerie told TMZ.

He caught a big break at one point, by just being a nice guy. On his way to audition for a Cecil B. DeMille movie, he stopped along the way to help a woman change a flat tire.

So he arrived late, and DeMille unhappily asked him why. Walker explained and apologized. At that point, DeMille smiled and said "I know all about it, that lady happens to be my secretary." Clint got the part.
