Sam has been nice about letting me leave my cigars at the office... but.

Construction (demolition) started a couple weeks ago. Framing started this week for the cigar lounge and walk-in in the basement.

Wall between the smoke room and walk-in will have glass shelves (each side of tv) that you can see inside the walk in thru.

To funny just bought 2 50 cabs of shorts. (For Sam when he inevitably runs out)

Going to build an "in case of emergency" box and leave it at the office when I finally move the cigars out.

From inside the walk-in the wall abutting the smoke room.

left top and right top will be glass shelves inside humi, glass front into smoke room for "pretties".

Center top is tv area which will have storage on the humi side.

Bottom 4 openings will be pull out drawers on the smoke room side for singles and open box access without having to walk out and into the humi.

http://imageshack.com/a/img924/6161/BZgSm6.jpg

Still have to pick out flooring and a million other little details.

Jane and I left for the shack today. Not coming back till Friday.

Picked the floor coverings last week (tile for humi and tile that looks like wood for SR).

The electrical is all roughed in and they installed the 4 fans on Tuesday. Today they started spraying the foam insulation so it was time to go.

Should get the final drawings from the cabinet maker for approval on Monday.

Drywall starts on Friday.

Janes out of town this coming weekend so I'll post some pics.

Ended up installing 3 - 400 cfm "whisper quiet fans. Limited space they had to fit in the rafters. Have room in the old widow for more but going to see how this works. Spread out over 5 or so feet seems to draw pretty well.

What are you using for cooling?

Good to see you!

It's in the basement. In the past basement has always been in the high 60's winter and summer. We insulated the heck out of it so I'm not sure what the future holds.

No HVAC ducts or returns in the Walk in. No returns in the smoke room.

Made a provision in the utility closet (Pic below) where the reverse osmosis system goes (low by the water and drain in pic) to be able to vent and drain an AC unit if required. Humidification device is inside the walk in in the corner - Rev osmosis system is in this closet, water piped thru the wall to the humidifier. Going to have a shelf half way up in the closet where the ac unit would go if needed with ducting out into the corner shelving area of the walk in.

It's always confused me that folks build "walk in's" but once you are in there is no room to walk. So I guess this is a "walk around". Had the space, so like women and shoes (or guys with cigars) the challenge taken is to fill it up. :)

Hopefully past behavior will be sufficient to meet the challenge.

Contractor and I are having a chat tomorrow on the little things like end cabinets, over the window area shelves or not and the big issue - do we leave any vertical surface without wood? I'm thinking no painted surface exposed - he's thinking more work = more money. Won't be much of an argument but you always need to respect others opinions. :)

Mostly been messing with LED lighting strips they are having issues getting them to seat - ended up gluing them with clamps. There are over 1000 led lights around the cabinets in each of 3 colors. Mood lighting options I guess.

It looks awesome!

How long will it take you to season the room? Need some beads? :D

Got one of these plus a reverse osmosis system. I have like 40 lbs of beads in the wall a door cab at work that I am going to sell with it.

Cardboard is off the floor..

The little copper highlight surround.

https://imageshack.com/a/img922/8426/2ZDsiE.jpg

Full floor - wine island goes inside the copper surround.

https://imageshack.com/a/img922/6937/lp15M2.jpg

Final wall cabinet is in - little round thing by the door which is in as well.

https://imageshack.com/a/img924/3461/t8Xc1b.jpg

Trim around the door, build the wine island, install the humidification system and.... well there is a bit more to go but figure mid Feb for cigar move in.
Sometime next week they start on the smoking room.

Unboxed the Humidification device just needs to be plumbed and a shelf modified so the outlet can get to the edge.

Brought a couple more humis home.

They were offsite today building the island.

The electricians ran out of dimmable switches last trip. Little bright but it looks nice with the 2 monument humis.

Getting to the home stretch. Finalized the granite for the walk in - changed my mind and went more traditional - "blue flower".

They set the island shell today. Lots of finish work and covering but the shell is there.

https://imageshack.com/a/img924/9463/I8gIYz.jpg

Millions of holes for the peg supports to hold the bottles.

https://imageshack.com/a/img924/4245/JdWeLu.jpg

Made the last 3 singles/aging drawers - just need to face and install them.

https://imageshack.com/a/img923/8106/8q4nvf.jpg

Leaving for a week tomorrow so no updates. Major remaining issue is to install the thru the wall cabinets to the smoke room. They are supposed to be in on Tuesday. The goal is for them to get the room buttoned up and humidified before I return next Saturday. 50/50 on that happening. The following week they install the countertops and we are off to the races on the walk in.....

Then on to the smoke room.

Was going into progress withdrawal so the contractor set some pics today.

Got all the singles drawers under the long counter installed.

https://imageshack.com/a/img923/6528/LKSlkH.jpg

Built the last shelving little guys by door and finished the door framing.

https://imageshack.com/a/img923/3163/BE1a2y.jpg

Finished the wine island just waiting on the counter tops... hopefully next week.

https://imageshack.com/a/img923/8799/NqBzjT.jpg

And started the finish carpentry on the outside of the walk in.

https://imageshack.com/a/img922/5569/ZzcTDE.jpg

Last thing they need to do before humidification is to install the thru the wall to smoke room cabinets - Thursday and they say it will be humidified on Friday. We will see.

It's redder in person. The kids room is very cherry stain plan. I wanted a contrast. Though a bit lighter might be nice. The "other things" planned for the smoke room are intended to be the focus vs the walls.
