So with the economy in the crapper andpotential concern over guarding your pennies what do you think your cigar budget (just sticks not accessories) will be this year and do you really think you will stick to it.

About 10x what I can afford. And I will go over it by about 1000 percent.

I'm pretty sure whatever number I come up with, it'll get blown out of the water about the same time the third big sale of cc's is posted.:(
But, it's an investment, right? Can't do any worse than my 401K.

It's hard to say, I don't set a budget, I just buy what I want. I usually end up spending some of my disposable income on Firearms, and I am buying a new house, so I have no idea what I will be able to spend on cigars this year. I will let you know on December 31st. I can say I will probably spend more than I should.:bh

As for me $100-$200 a month, all for the troops this year.

Based on what I spent this year I could see spending $3k easy again this year. But that all depends on what sales come up and things like that... I am always a sucker for the rare Fuente stuff so I will get more of that and then I need quite a few more CCs to be completely happy. But I can't go too crazy cuz I have a few big ticket items I need to get this year too.

And if you think about it $3k is only $250 a month... :D:ss

I normally save up for the holiday sales. doesn't make sense to me to buy cigars at a higher price when they are consistently cheaper for 2 months out of the year.

I have one box on my radar that i will purchase sometime in Feb. but other than that we'll see what this year brings.

I think the beginning of '09 will have to consist of me smoking more than I buy as I will definitely need more room to buy and just buying another storage device is out of the question. I bought a cabinet to eliminate having a boat load of desktops, well the cab got full so now I have a full cabinet and a full desktop so my goal is to smoke the much needed space rather than spend more money on another means of storage. As far as budget goes, well taht all depends on how well business is in '09.

Maybe Budget wasn't the right word, it was more meant to be what are your spending expectations. I know I picked 3-5 I think I spent a little more than that last year but I was experimenting on the NC side and bought a lot of crappy sticks so I expect to spend less in total buy less but buy better. I am at the point were I am looking for stuff to age for a while (great intention that LOL)

ezjeeper

Budget? I don't have a budget for cigars! Problem is that my non-cigar budget keeps messing with the real budget!

Actually, my wife thinks I took this job and came to this wonderful country to pay off debt and pay for her new house. We all know the truth is that I came here so that I can afford to buy cigars anytime I please and as much as I please!!! Ha!

Seriously though - two pretty full humidors here with me. So I have to smoke those a little emptier before refilling. But when I do, I am going to be a little more picky on what I buy now.

If I have room in my storage I'll buy some smokes. I was thinking about limiting myself to about one box a month unless we get some more of those CRAZY deals.

This year I have a couple of good things going my way to help me save money and hopefully I stay employed while this economy keeps getting worse. If I do go unemployed then no purchases.

No budget necessarily, but my goal is to keep the purchases down to replacing what gets smoked on a one-for-one basis. My humidors are pretty full and I'm retired now without the income I used to have, so it's time for some moderation.

That's a really hard question because I don't really count what I spend on cigars or fishing tackle (my other passion).....

I put 3K-5K, but in a realistic world, I will probably spend more like 6K-10K, especially if I go forward with the walk-in plans.

In 2 weeks, I'll probably be spending at least $1000-$2000 when I go to Cuba. I do have a 2K budget limit because that's all the cash I'm bringing for cigars, and I'm really only a loud to bring back 4 boxes between my fiancé and I:rolleyes:.

My problem, like a lot of other people here is that I have no more room and my next step in a walk-in if I want more sticks.... I tend to smoke and stock up when I get room....
