Here's a great thread on this topic. (http://www.cigarasylum.com/vb/showthread.php?t=643) It hasn't been updated in about a year and a half but is still valid. My top five from the list are:

1) Famous Nic 5000 Toro. From Famous Smoke Shop.
2) Ramon Bueso Genesis the Project Robusto. From Cigars International. It's on sale several times a year for <$3/stick.
3) Gran Habano 2002. Many online sources.
4) Diesel Unholy Cocktail. Many online sources.
5) 5 Vegas Series 'A' Anomaly. Can be had at CI for <$3/stick quite often.

Omar Ortez, either the originals or the maduro. An excellent smoke, and under $3. Atlantic has boxes of 60 of the Toro size for $155. Cigar Place has the Robustos at 20 for $51.

I grabbed a couple of bundles of J. Fuego Heat Corojo Ruboustos on sale last week got a little under $30 for 20. Tough to go wrong for $1.50 a stick for these. The were a 90 rated cigar on CA''s 2016 best buy list. Nice medium bodied smoke.

In the last 2 weeks, I bought the following, all for less than $3/cigar:

CAO Brazilia Gol for $61 a box and free shipping. That works out to $3.05 per stick but those 20 extra nickles will be the best nickles you ever spent!!! The boxes are usually about $80 online and singles are $5-6 in stores.

My usual inexpensive smoke is Tampa Sweethearts 500 (https://www.tampasweethearts.com/tampasweetheartsno500.aspx). It's 4 1/2 x 50. I prefer the maduro and always have a few bundles sitting in the humidor.

I also agree with the others who mentioned the Famous Nicaraguan line. I usually have some of the 3000 lying around (https://www.famous-smoke.com/brand/famous+nicaraguan+selection+3000+cigars).

These are a little over $3...but if you go to Free Fall Auctions section on Cigar Bid, the ten packs La Aroma de Cuba Robustos will bottom out at about $32-33. Just sit and watch the price drop. Sometimes it will reset on you at around $40 but if you are patient it will drop lower.

And I cannot stress enough for cheap sticks, J Fuego Heat Corojo. Bundles are all around $35-$45 on Cigar page depending on size and often on sale for about $30 a bundle. The Robusto was a 90 rated Best Buy on the CA top 25 list. Smooth medium bodied smoke with sweet spice and pepper. The 5er of Toros is on sale thru Friday 9:00 AM EST for $10 shipping included as part of the Labor Day fiver Sale. Anyone looking for cheap sticks should take advantage of this one.

This x 1000% with some patience and a little luck you can score some top shelf smokes for a fraction of their normal price. In October I was getting such good deals I had to cut myself off for fear of my CC bursting into flames or my wife hurting me.
