OK, as nobody else is taking a swing at this hanging curveball, I guess I must.

I think it's stinky. :D

I don't feel we should be advertising, nor catering to, a particular brand of accessories, in this case the Stinky brand ashtray. I feel it might be misinterpreted as setting a tone of what we might expect or favor that people should use for accessories, much like featuring cigar bands would set a tone of CC or NC and a even a particular brand. I would much rather see a simple generic ashtray of some sort.

Above my pay grade, I'll let you folks decide, wasn't trying to rep a brand just needed a 4 cigar holder ashtray :tu

As I sip on my Coke Zero, I ponder what you're saying. You make a good point, just like this refreshing Coke Zero makes my thirst go away. It's the TOE's call, but IMO just using a generic ashtray could be just as good. Not as good as drinking a Coke Zero, but still good.

Personally I like peaty Laphroiag 18 year old, but refreshing Coke Zero is OK if you're very thirsty and out of Tropicana Orange.

Sorry Remo - off on a tangent.

Love the chip - I'm in for a handful.

If it was a "Stinky" brand ashtray 2 of the 4 leaves would be broken off. :2

That being said I tend to agree that just a regular ashtray would work just as well in the design.

"We" was meant as CA, not you specifically. Stinky brand ashtrays are rather unmistakable in their profile / image. I think the image can still remain true to your idea with a change to a generic 4-finger ashtray.

I prefer a nice bit of Lagavulin 16 myself. Caol Isla and Ardbeg are great as well. I haven't had 18 year Laphroig only the 10 but I sure would drink it if it was offered!!!!!!

As for the poker chip, I would buy 10 even if it is stinky. My ash tray is the old CAO cubist ashtray and I love that piece of junk hah.

There are such a limited number of us who will get these chips, all inmates here at CA...I don't think the "advertising" for Stinky is really a factor as we all know what they are and already have made the choice to own or not own one or more. Personally, I am fine with the design as is, Mike.

I like the design as well.

However, and I am playing devil's advocate here, what if Stinky himself objects to us using his product on our chip?

hmm. Just a thought, but for the side with the ashtray, why not something like this...

A perspective drawing that makes that side of the chip look like it is a round ashtray with CA info between the rests. Maybe some ash and a few bands in the bottom.

No indication of tray brand, etc. just a perspective drawing. Probably from above and a but to the side, like the one pictured here: http://img.cigarsinternational.com/l/300/m/s/m-soaash01.jpg. Of course you could not have a cigar resting since it would be clipped at the edge of the chip.

You could move the cigar in and just have a bit over the edge of the "tray" that would give you a few mm around the edge that wasn't ashtray, or you could just have a couple butts in the ashtray that have already been smoked, the herf is over and it's time for you to leave message.. inside S.H.I.T. herf joke as Goatlocker and I can have the habit of being the last ones to leave :lr

No tray brand, but isn't that a trademark brand that is showing inside the ashtray? Another can of worms?

...like the one pictured here...

"like" as in similar too. Similar as in "not the same". Not the same as "use it as a possible model". Model as in "not exactly the same". Not exactly the same as in "like the one pictured".
