View Full Version : Pulled the trigger on an Aristocrat

I've been hemming and hawing for a while now on whether to stick with the wineador or kick it up a notch with an Aristocrat and finally said "to hell with it". I just got off the phone with Bob and he's building me a black walnut end table with beveled glass door. Now the hard part - waiting.

I happened to mention that folks here on CA had nothing but good things to say about his products and he said "Yeah, there're a great bunch of guys there!" So y'all have him fooled quite well. ;)

My only regret about my aristocrat is not going bigger with it. Can't wait to see yours when it's done. Bob does great work.

...and the wait is over! She's a beauty and was worth the wait. The black walnut is gorgeous.

And for you bastages that are gleefully rubbing their hands together, no, that is technically not an empty humidor :D. I have a packed-to-the-gills wineador that will be emptied and put into the Aristocrat after I give it five days or so to acclimate.

Thanks, men! As a side note, as I'm now going from the temperature-controlled wineador to the Aristocrat that's at ambient room temperature, I'm sending all of my smokes through the freezer. All incoming smokes will be frozen from now on, also. I'm not taking any chances with beetles.

How much bigger is the Aristocrat than the wineador ? More cigar room ? Thanks

Oh yes, MUCH more room. My wineador is an 18-bottle model and I currently have 11 boxes + two cedar tray drawers in it. The 11 boxes are packed in just about as tightly as can be. In the Aristocrat I'll probably have triple the space for boxes even with the space taken up by the Set & Forget humidifier, as well as drawer space for around 300 sticks.

Looks fabulous. Congrats.

Hang on to the wineador. You'll be able to fill up both the Aristocrat and the wineador before you know it! :tu

I'm probably going to do something crazy with it like actually put some wine in it. :D Or see if I can fit a small fermenter in it and use it when brewing beer to keep the temps nice and stable.
