Can be a place long gone or somewhere new. For me Dragon Lady's Den, THE Chinese place back home, I hear the finally closed about 15 yrs ago. My dad had the cig machine in the bar here, we would service it on Saturdays and always get lunch, I'd get shrimp w/lobster sauce, pork fried rice and eggroll, oh and bbq ribs to die for... and they had duck sauce, which on the West Coast isn't that easy to find. If I could go to any place I wanted to eat one meal it would be here.

The menu is a riot, but I suppose 40-50 years ago it was more the norm.

Adam, that flyer is a trip!

For me Annabelle Lee's here in Baltimore is my current top spot. Small corner pub with an Edgar Allan Poe theme. The duck fat fries are out of this world.

We've got a lot of great local seafood places around here, so I can't pick just one. But when we want oysters we go to a place called Mikey's. It's a bit of a dive but damn, they do oysters well and have a large beer selection. In season we can get oysters on the half shell for $5/dozen.

Easily Barnaby's Pizza in Milwaukee in the early '70's. I can still taste it... :)
I read they've resurrected the brand somewhere in Ill, but I don't know if the pizza is the same. I may have to check it out some day.

I've been digging this niche Hunan hand pulled noodle place down the street from my house (I go 1-2x a week). The do a black fungus with mashed garlic cold app that is incredible. A spicy boiled lamb (ground cumin lamb) with hot oil hand pulled noodles is just wicked awesome!

Actually, I think I'll go there today for lunch. Thank you thread!

Oklahoma Joe's BBQ in KC. Best bbq served in a gas station.
Went there just last month, it was fantastic. Best BBQ I've ever had, served in a gas station or not. They changed the name to Joe's Kansas City BBQ. That was fairly recent according to some of my wife's family that lives out that way.

My favorite place that is close to me would be 8th Ave Wing Shack in Greeley, CO. It really is pretty much a run down shack that makes you wonder if you should get food there, but the wings are amazing.

My favorite in my whole life, and I'd get up and go any time, is Alabama Jack's out in the swamp in Key Largo.
There's Alabama Jack's, and then there's everything else.
We have some exceptional restaurants all around Cleveland, still not close.

Haven't, maybe I should have though. Saw one Saturday at the mall. It was packed!

Favorite dim sum place is, The Kitchen (thanks, Dic)

Favorite hole in the wall is, Super Stars. Place looks like it receives an F in health quality and it probably does. Food is decent for $3 and some change you can get some garlic fried rice, and egg and two pieces of longanisa. I usually get two orders :D

There's not one Din Tai Fung in the world that does not have a line all day long. You pick what you want to order while in line and you give the hostess your order before you sit down. Best way to order! You'll be in heaven if you like Dim Sum. Din Tai Fung is considered one of the best restaurants in the World.

Have you been to Annie Gunn's in STL? It's an excellent steak house. Also, in Bellville, there's a bbq joint called Beast Craft and it is really good as well.

In Chicago, Trattoria No 10, Spiaggia/Cafe Spiaggia, and Shaw's Crab House are my go-to places.

The Coach Grill in Wayland, MA just west of Boston. Great food & better service. It's the complete experience for me & Grace. We've been going for over 14 years and have had the same waiter for just about the whole time. He's the absolute best -- to the point where we adjust our schedule if he's not working.

Mother's in NOLA. I'd weigh 500 lbs if I lived anywhere close.

Giacomo's in Boston's North End -- just outstanding Italian.

Also: McDonald's

Hey, I’ve actually eaten there!!! Great place but I would also include La Panaderia which I really enjoyed the Ranchero Eggs Benedict and the coffeee was excellent.

In Sacramento two choices for me.

Cincinnati - The Precinct is a top notch steak house...one of the best I've ever been to
Charleston - Hall's Chophouse is also up there.
Nashville - Skull's Rainbow Room is almost like a speak easy in attitude, but they have fantastic food and drinks. Super laid back.
Indianapolis - Eddie Merlot's is always great.

These are the only places I get to with any frequency but if you're in the neighborhood, they're worth a check.
