My Wild pulled out another win. I'm not sure how they are doing it right now. They play great in the first and third periods and darn near lose every game in the second. Sumter still coughing up pucks and making lazy passes. However we got Brodin and Zucker back which should really help the team. Also the speed demon that is Eric Haula has finally found his scoring touch after two years of nothing. He has been insane the last month.

15 games left, Central division is crazy. 88 for the Hawks and Stars, 87 for the Blues, gonna be a crazy last 4 weeks. You want to win the division and get Nashville, Minnesota or Colorado, not one of the other top 2. :2

Like I said in the beginning of the year, just hoping the Flyers play some meaningful games in April. Being two points out of the WC with a game in hand, it looks like that could be the case.

This is the first time this year I can think of where the Flyers playing a back to back against a team that didn't also play the night before. Probably happened, but it seems the schedule makers usually try to avoid it.

Very surprised that we pulled it out in the shootout. Coyle has been added in the last two and has made it look easy and two shootout wins for dubnyk will hopefully get him his confidence back. Great to see Kane get crushed (looked bad but was a clean hit) but I'm glad both players were ok. Both were in precarious positions. Great game and I hope the Wild can keep this going.

Dave (DavenportWSQ here) got us in a Club Level suite that he got from a client. Besides the free tickets, our host sprung for a fajita bar (I had 5 steak faijtas), chicken and steak wraps (yes, I did), bar ( lots of Goose Island beers and Grey Goose vodka), a cappucino bar (can you say Bailey's and coffee to "sober up"?) a dessert bar ( choclate chunk cookie and and a chocolate/pretzel/caramel bar). Oh, yeah, and the game. :D I'm still smiling despite only taking 1 point.

Only two disappointments....Those were the first shootout goals Darling has allowed in his career, and 2 goals from Hossa and we would have been there for his 500th. Haven't seen a 500th goal live since I saw Michel Goulet do it 25 years ago.

They definitely have a tough finish, but no need to throw in the towel yet. Leafs beat the Ducks, Oilers beat the Sharks, Jets beat the Kings....stranger things can happen. Their game Saturday is HUGE.

On a similar note, the Hawks' floundering the last 2 weeks has the Preds just two points between them. 4th place in the Central means a first round matchup with the Kings...definitely not where the Hawks want to start the playoffs. :2

Hawks game was a LOT closer than it looked on paper (4-1, but 2 empty net goals).

1st Wild Card team will likely face two out of LA, Anaheim or SJ in the first two rounds, then meet up with the Central winner in the conference finals. Not a very easy task, I suggest the Hawks step it up and stay ahad of Nashville, who are looking real good lately.

I agree. It's actually Keith's third offense, Sedin (elbow), Carter (high stick), and now Coyle, each with intent to injure (IMO). And while his taunting of Backes two years ago was obviously not suspension worth, it was tactless and it really effected my opinion of him.

Thankfully he got some punishment. IMO it should have been for the season.
My first thought when I it saw it was of Maki's shot to Ted Green's head in '69. (Ted did take the first swing, thankfully missing.)

If anyone that has seen the video thinks he didn't have intent, they'd better go see their optometrist. Personally I think he should have been suspended till the end of the first playoff series. It's the second time he's swung and hit a guy in the face with his stick and third offense total.

I may be biased being a Wild fan, but he should've gotten more and I think he would have if Coyle have gotten more than a cut and black eye.

Gustafson actually made a handful of amazing saves in the first and got zero support in the second, one of the goals was a "fourth chance", he was laying on the ice trying to cover up and 3 Bruins just standing around while one of the Sens was whacking at the puck over and over till it went in, team did not come to play. I like Claude but this game was not a shining moment in his career.

I'm still trying to figure out how that was a goal. Unless they called Dubnyks attempt to stop the puck from rolling into the net as intentionally knocking the net off the moorings. My club showed some effort tonight but just not enough. Couldn't capitalize on numerous scoring chances. Breakaways, 2 on 1s, nothing. Pp is terrible. Extremely frustrating.

I enjoyed the excitement of the Washington/Pitt game. The fans and the announcers were really into it. The Stars/Blues game lacked energy, especially in the 3rd period.

Back to game 7 of the Hawks/Blues - that double ricochet shot off the goal posts by the Hawks is something my buddies are still talking about. They have even snubbed watching the rest of the Cup playoffs. The Hawks are awesome so perhaps they turn another Cup next season?

The x-rays on Ben Bishop's injured left knee came back negative, according to head coach Jon Cooper.

Bishop was injured after falling awkwardly on his left leg. He was clearly in severe pain on the ice before the stretcher carried him off. Cooper added that there was no structural damage done to Bishop's knee and that they are "hoping for the best". The Lightning goaltender is considered day-to-day.
