I had a request for one of my small "Meteor" series humidors... which is a 30 count humidor - fairly straight forward and bare bones.....

This customer wanted me to add on a compartment at the bottom to hold accessories... with the latch. He didn't want a drawer, but basically a hinged box thing..... so, I came up with this....

Top part is the humidor, bottom part is for accessories...

Wondering what ya'all think? Should I make it a "thing"???

When you open the "bottom" won't all of the cigars slide around and move in the top? :|

:tpd: but ... I was thinking of this crazy idea. What if you made a wrought iron holder for the humidor that affixed to the central part and allowed both the top to swing up (unrestricted except by hinges) and the lower to swing down, perhaps with a stop?

As long as the customer is happy, that's what pays the bills.

I am not enthusiastic that you have to turn the humidor over to open the bottom. Maybe the bottom could be attached with 4 arms. To get to the bottom storage, the humidor would lift up and back. I'm searching for examples - how 'bout the inner shelf in some fishing tackle boxes?

Exactly what I was thinking.

Thanks for the feedback.... Well, the BOTL that spec'd this one out is happy, but, I don't think I'll do another like it... Better to just make two boxes, really, one for stogies and one for accessories... Yeah, I like that idea better...
