S.H.I.T. herfers. While not a cigar and I wouldn't smoke any one of them, the cigars I had smoked were really good but smoking with the NoMex crew really is the best part, I relax with a cigar, but I laugh and genuinely have a great time with the S.H.I.T. herf crew and have made many friends there and through them.

To play the game though, a '05 Party Short from Angel is the first cigar that opened my eyes and made me say "whoa".

Been a Padron whore ever since. Although my tastes have broadened. I had been smoking before with friends , already had a humidor. But thats the cigar that made me go from 1-2 a week to 1-2 day.

Adam made me think of the cc that got me hooked on cc's. It was a crusty little old ERDM lunch club that Dball sent me. For some reason I'm thinking it was from the 70's.
Then Clayton (akumushi) sent me a fiver of properly kept cc's, and that was it. Hooked.
Only good Party short I ever smoked was in that bag. :D

La Gloria Cubana. I was working on a project in Miami for about a year in the late 80's and the locals told me about the factory in Little Havana. I went over and stood in line for my 20 freshly rolled toro size, and after trying one realized that there was another world to cigar smoking that I had not yet appreciated. Every once in a while I have a La Gloria to bring back memories...

Early on, first cigar I got flavor out of that I noticed and then first box purchase was the Carlos Torano Virtuoso robusto.

The first one I smoked.
It was more about the setting, weather, and mood than the actual smoke, but nevertheless, I was hooked.

Thanks to a certain Maduro thread for giving me the guts to explore outside of the Macanudo world, way back when...

Padron 3000 Maduro was the best cigar I had smoked the first time I tried it. This particular shop kept recommending Romeo Y Julieta (Altidas) and other General/Altidas stuff and I kept thinking there has to be better stuff out there :)

I've been a loyal customer of the shop that got be going on the Padrons ever since!

Same here. I have a box of Wavells tucked away in the coolidor that I occasionally grab a stick from.

The cigar that got me "hooked" on the hobby was a Nazareth's of Bev. Hills, Honduran rolled, RyJ Churchill. I want to say it was in '89. I had smoked cigars many times prior but they were on whims and I didn't have a humidor until after the first Naz when I went on a buying spree.

One day with a friend I had a Montecristo Epic and an Islay dram and something happened with those coming together that I had never experienced and since that day the gloves are off and I have never regretted it.

I forgot about those Wavell's. They were fantastic.

The cigar that totally blew my mind and made me realize there were insanely good cigars out there, it was a PAM 26 #6.
I smoked it around the dinner table with my gf's brother, mother, and father.
Awesome company, I was having a blast, but that cigar was so good it made me pay attention.

Dredging up an old thread, but I'm agreeing with the Partagas 1845. I had smoked an occasional cigar, but the 1845 was one that I really noticed and thought "dang, this is good!"

Got hooked with a Nub back in 03 or it was something of that size but pretty certain it was a Nub.

Didn't start smoking and enjoying until 05, had my first CC. It was a Monte #2 (which was fake). Although it was fake, I did enjoy it and seeked out to find some authentic habanos. All down hill from there.

Allen mentioned Hoyo Epi #2, that actually was my 1st box I purchased in 05.

2003/2008... same difference.

I believe it was 98 Bolivar CJ or 99 Punch Petit Punch (cabinet).

The 15 dollar Fuentes, VSGs, Padrons , etc never truly got me "hooked"

I have 2 answers. The first cigar that got me hooked was a box of Da Vinci Mona Lisa's my college roommate and I split. When I really got hooked and moved from a small desktop to a cooler is when I tried a Padron 64 anniversary maduro. That was the real hook.

I was a little kid, five, living in Havana, Cuba in 1956. In the dusk evening breeze the family would all sit out on the front porch to talk and have coffee after dinner. Small groups of men would be walking up and down the street with bowties hanging from open-necked guyaberas; many of them were smoking cigars. The smoke would drift up and over to the porch where I sat each each night and, to this day, I remember it as the sweetest and most enticing smell.

Whatever they were smoking had me hooked 60 years ago.

Nubs came out in 2008, Huy.

Well, that and Nubs.

Mine was the Carlos Torano Exodus Silver. It was not my first cigar by a long shot, but it was the first one that I could distinguish any flavors besides tobacco from.
