I heard a rumor Elvis ate grilled peanut butter and bannana sandiwiches. They are tasty butter the bread like you are going to make a grill cheese and go for it.

When I was a kid my mom used to make cold beef stroganoff sandwiches.
Surprisingly good. I loved 'em. I should make some and subject my daughter to the idea. (she'd run screaming from the room -- "picky eater" doesn't even begin to describe her.)

Vegemite and/or marmite. :pu

Also, I can't stand anything with mint or lemon in it. Sans lemonade.

I put salted roasted peanuts inside of my Coke Zero. I don't think it's strange, but the family does. It's better with RC cola but you can't find that too much anymore. I have my dad to thank for this most awesome snack

That's a southern thing.. I can't remember what they call it though. It is tasty at 4 in the morning when you've been playing tonk for about 6 hours.

As far as sandwiches go.... I like crispy bacon on plain white bread.

Also, if you ever go to McDonalds, next time get some Hot Mustard to eat your fries with! You will thank me later ;)

My wife does that, peanutbutter & syrup on pancakes or waffles. And now our boy does it too. I always ate my flat breakfast items plain with nuthin on them (aside from rolling up a link sausage in a pancake) so it's taking me a LONG time to get converted to the PB pancakes. I'll do it, but only if someone reminds me to try it... again...

Salad with Ketchup as dressing.

Cheez-its dipped in ketchup..

No one has ever found anything I won't put ketchup on and eat. I have to like the food to begin with though.

Let me tell you, vanilla ice cream and ketchup is nasty.

Also, Soft Dough Pretzel cheeze mixed with ketchup is extremely nasty.

Since he probably won't post it, my brother grew up surviving on Ketchup sandwiches with about a pouch of Lipton Onion Soup Mix on top of the ketchup.

His choice. Mom fed us well.

You're just a step away from one of my favorites -- peanut butter with sliced jalapenos on toast.

Some guys in my town are set to launch the be all, end all of food later this month -- baconnaise (http://www.baconnaise.com/).

My Mom makes a sandwich for my Dad that he grew up eating in Germany , she calls it "Cannibal Sandwich" . It's raw very lean ground beef with chopped onions mixed in with salt und pfeffer . She gets the beef ground special at a local butcher who also eats it that way so when he's gonna have it , he is extra careful when cleaning the grinder . I won't eat it , not a chance .

I like fried (2 slice) bologna sandwich with an egg over easy, cheese and mayo on toast.
Many people like fried bologna sanwiches but when I add the over easy egg they gagg.

The owner of the bar I go to often does the same thing. Special orders his ground sirloin and, for me at least, serves it completely raw in the middle of a burger..topped with cheddar and a slice of red onion. Can't beat it.

My father was known to enjoy a hellmans mayo sandwich on wonder bread. Nothing else, just Hellman's mayo, wonder bread, that's lunch! Never could get into it. He also had a tradition called the ZZtop sandwich, Empty the fridge, put it on a sandwich and that was a meal. Of couse he pulled this when Mom wasn't home.

oh, where to start... too many to remember!

1) marmite (and I'm American)
2) Double Zoute (Double salt licorice drops)
3) Butter, JUST butter... I could eat a whole stick of it.
4) Cows Tongue, damn I love a good Cows Tongue sandwich
5) I used to love to drink/slurp a raw egg when I was younger and we raised our own chickens.
6) Roast Beef, swiss cheese, mayo, and RELISH - not very strange, try it, you'll like it!

I hate you people... its 3:30am and now I'm starving again....

Spam. People always seem to freak out over this stuff, but I just don't see why people get so up-in-arms about it. Then again, I'm also from Hawaii and it was in at least one meal a week.

Tripas and lengua. Mmm. Tripe and cow's tounge. Great in tacos. Chopped fine, thrown on a hot cooktop to warm through (or crispy up in the case of the tripe), slap em down on some corn tortillas, all a bit of chopped onions, cilantro, and some red sauce, and I'm in heaven.

Wow, reading this thread I feel better. I have had a lot of this stuff and people always made fun of me. It made me sad.

Peanut butter on pancakes with Maple Syrup is awesome.

The Elvis sandwich I do a little different. Don't grill it, just white bread, peanut butter, banana, and I also add mayo.

Pickled eggs, yes! Never ever waste a jar of good pickle juice again!

Dip my fries in tartar sauce, I am often ridiculed in the South for this, especially when I say what kind of "pop" do you have.

One more, bacon gravy on top of Cantaloupe.

not so long as you don't suffer from Coronary artery disease!

If we're trying for a heart attack on a stick, I'm sure we can all come up with a recipe!

Mine would be...

1 very large tortilla filled with a quarter pound pastrami, 2 quarter pound hot dogs, 3 strips of bacon, chili, hot peppers and onions, wrapped then deep fried.

By the way, chilli, hotdogs and pastrme wraped in a tortilla here in Los Angeles is called an Okie Dog!

I am surprised at some of the comments on the raw meat sandwich. My mom would buy fresh made all beef sausages (raw, like brats) when we were kids. Myself and my older brother sit there squeezing the raw meat out the casing and eating it raw. I never eat steak past blue, rare is too cooked for me. I cure and air-dry my own beef. Raw meat rocks! I make homemade sausage, I once weight the raw ingridients and the final sausage only to realise I has eaten 1.5 lbs of raw beef/lamb in the process. YUM! One more note, the peanut butter and meat concept sounds bad, but it does work! Think about thai food for example, lots of peanut/beef mixtures. I make a stir fry of meat, onions, ground chili and peanut butter (and some soy)---love it! :)

But, the wierdest thing... white bread, thick butter and seasoning salt...when I was a kid. ITs time to relive my childhood this weekend!

Pork and Bean sandwich. We were pretty poor when I was a kid so nothing went to waist on the farm. Fried potatos, green tomatos just about anything would make a good sandwich.

I think the cow's tongue makes a great sandwich along with the heart, both are very lean meat and you can pick them up pretty cheap.
