I recently found a couple of nice, dark maduros in the wineador that had been hiding and forgotten for a couple of years. Happy to find some of my favorites, a PDR Capa Madura and a MUWAT, they met a fiery end at a local pub with some good ales as accompaniment. Interestingly, these cigars both proved to be exceptionally smooth, had excellent draws and burns and were just...much better than I had remembered them to be. Like everyone else, I have sticks that are purposely set aside for long naps, but these were just amazing. I have run across a few cigars that seem to have mellowed and improved with age before and these most recent reminded me of the benefits of doing so. I also enjoy Habano and sun grown sticks and imagine putting those away would result in similar results. :dr:dr:dr
So many cigars to cellar - tests one's patience and resolve.

When I was still using my desktop humi I would inadvertently end up aging a lot of cigars. Mainly because I had that thing so full that I would forget what sticks I had at buried at the bottom. I had a Don Carlos a few months back that I had been sitting on for over five years and it was one of the best cigars I've ever had. However, I also recently had a Tatuaje with about the same amount of age and it was nearly flavorless. I guess some sticks benefit more for some extra rest than others.

I cannot wait for that to happen to me Rob. First thing, I have zero patience and just want to try everything that comes my way, so I really need to let that die down lol. Secondly I need to build a nice reserve of things I like, but I don't even know what I like yet either haha, so much to do!!

Figuring out what you like is part of the fun. Enjoy the ride

Had a similar experience last week. I bought and burned through most of a box of Bueso Genesis a couple/few years ago when they were new and novel. They weren't bad at the time, especially considering they were less than two bucks per. Well..I found two at the bottom of a cooler last week. I had one last Thursday and I have to admit that I must have looked down at the band three or four times to make sure that I wasn't smoking something rather high end.....sort of Fuente 858 Maduro-ish. Amazing enough that I went over to cbid and won a box the same day......they're going to get buried for a very long time.
