What is your favorite thing about smoking a premium cigar? Is it the fellow smokers company? The aromas? Flavor Profiles? How about all of the above? what gives you the drive to keep up with this hobby?

The people by far.....I'd smoke the crap I started with in 97 again if it was what I had to do to continue hanging with my Brothers and Sisters of the leaf.

I love to smoke with others who can appreciate a really good cigar and the enjoyment from the activity, but it is so rare for me to get that opportunity. If I waited for that, I'd never get to enjoy them. I really like the taste of a good cigar and sitting on my deck and relaxing. I also love walking into a cigar store with the smells and visual stimulations; just awesome.

It's an escape for me as I've been smoking cigars for decades. I love the ritual and the way it let's me relax and engage in conversation with friends or those I've just met. What other item do you know about that will let you talk with a stranger for hours about a lot of things under the sun as opposed to just having a casual conversation w/o a cigar? Cigars just seem to put peoples inhibitions at rest and let them be themselves and there isn't a pill on the market that will let you do that unless you are taking xanax and you won't remember shyte an hour later.

You have to excuse Tom he's not so smooth with the words :r , that being said, the friendships i have made, the S.H.I.T. I take and the S.H.I.T. I give. I have made so many friends because we share the same hobby and enjoyment, I've watched the Red Sox move on past the Tigers in the playoffs, on their way to winning the World Series, with a great guy that if it were not for cigars we never would have met in the figurative or literal sense of the word. My first and so far only trip to Vegas was with friends, again met through enjoying the same hobby and passion.

Thursday used to just be the day before Friday, now it's my favorite day of the week and I look forward to it starting Friday morning.

I was gonna be a wise ass and say "cigar smoking," but that doesn't cover it! Indeed, the camaraderie of BOTLs and SOTLs is my favorite thing about lighting up stogies!

I've had some wonderful cigars, some amazing cigars actually. But what makes them that much better, is the company that I am surrounded by. I've had the privileged to meet some of the most wonderful people through smoking cigars, people that I consider my brothers.

A cigar means that is time to relax. Relax away from people I don't want to be around (co-workers) when I am trying to relax. Relax with people I do want to be around (my fellow cigar enthusiasts, my family). Relax at a herf or cigar event Relax with a good book or a good drink or all of the above.

The social experience, the time for personal reflection and pondering, the way it dances so beautifully with my art...and then theres the flavors/aromas, etc :)

For me the best thing about the hobby is the people I've met. Even though I've not met in person any of the people I talk to on the boards or on Instagram, I've had some great conversations and developed some friendships with some of them that I would've otherwise never spoke to.

After that it's the relaxation. Whenever I get a chance to go to the porch or the patio with a cigar, that's me time. I know I can usually spend an hour or two either with the wife or by myself and just get away from the cares of the day. All my worries just seem to float away in a cloud of smoke.

I really enjoy the story behind the particular cigar I smoke. The cigar we hold is really a symbol of a success, following decades of hardship and struggle for a family. We share in that success when we light a cigar, and so it should be appreciated accordingly.

For me, that means being in the right frame of mind with no interruptions and not in a rush.

Smoking a cigar reminds me that life is good no matter how bad things get. When life is great a cigar is a celebration. When it's not great a cigar grounds me and makes me count my blessings. After all, how bad can life be if I still can enjoy a cigar.:ss

Having PTSD the thing I love about Cigars is the release. It's something that when I do it, anyone around knows that it's time for me. It gives me something to "hide" behind and just relax. I would say the people (my brothers and sisters that smoke) come in next, a very close 2nd. The community is great.

The aroma and taste is a huge plus too, the aftertaste that lingers for hours is just great. It's like a quick memory and you get reminded of the fun you just had a few hours ago every time you taste it again.

I like cigars for "me time"; a good smoke, a good book, and a good glass of whiskey and I'm happy as the richest man on earth.
I like cigars for the social aspect; having a few smokes with family and friends, shooting the breeze, enjoying the camaraderie.
I like cigars for the taste.
I like cigars for the smell.
I like cigars...

Everything that James said. I especially enjoy the "me" time aspect. It's nice to just get away from everything for an hour or so and relax.

The taste of a good cigar. I don't enjoy being around other smokers because cigar smoke stinks like hell. While I enjoy a cigar I don't want to breath in other's second hand smoke because like I said it stinks. In December it will be one year since I started smoking again after 27 years. I going to give it up then after I finish this current shipment. I've got maybe 15 858 maduros left and I'm done.
